sig_sauer_silencers_suppressors_F1SIG Sauer‘s engineers, designers and professional advisors have been “quietly” innovating the field of suppressors. The company has big plans for 2015, offering a selection of suppressors to fit pistols and rifles from .17 HMR up to .338 Lapua Mag.

“The team we have assembled is combining cutting-edge design with advanced material selection and state of-the-art manufacturing processes,” said Jeff Creamer, Executive Director and General Merchandise Manager for SIG SAUER, Inc. “SIG SAUER Silencers offer new standards of durability, accuracy, and performance.”

The following SIG Sauer suppressors are new for 2015:

Rimfire
–
SRD22 – .17 HMR, .22LR, .22 Win Mag.

Centerfire Handgun
- SRD9-S: .380 ACP, 9mm
– SRD45: – 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP
– SRD MPX: – 9mm

Centerfire Rifle
–
SRD556: .17 HMR, .22 LR, .22 Win. Mag, 5.56 NATO
– SRD556-QD: .17 HMR, .22 LR, .22 Win. Mag, 5.56 NATO
– SRD762: 5.56 NATO, .300 BLK, 7.62x39mm, .308 Win., .300 Win. Mag.
– SRD762-QD: 5.56 NATO, .300 BLK, 7.62x39mm, .308 Win., .300 Win. Mag.
– SRD358QD: .300 BLK, .308 Win., .300 Win. Mag, .338 Lapua Mag.

Their innovations include tubeless rifle suppressors to maximize volume and reduce weight. They’ve also developed a fast-attach mounting system, known as Taper-Lok, to minimize point-of-impact shift. The new Taper-Lok QD mounting system uses a modular three-piece design that does not require timing to the barrel. Once in place, the mount features interchangeable muzzle devices, allowing users to swap muzzle accessories without removing the mount from the barrel. Taper-Lok QD suppressors also feature a secondary retention latch with wrench flats.

SIG’s new tapered direct thread designs eliminate the need for a crush washer, which allows the suppressors to be more securely torqued down, increases the surface area of contact and is self-centering to the bore. The result is a more secure fit that reduces the reduces the point-of-impact shift when using a suppressor.

Adding to its technical developments, the company has also focused on providing more utility to the customer. The new SRD45 suppressor, designed for use with .45 ACP handguns, comes with two pistons — one compatible with .578×28 TPI threads and the other with M16x1LH threads — allowing it to be used on multiple firearms. There are also 9mm and .40 S&W pistons available for the SRD45. Similarly, the SRD22 rimfire suppressor includes two adapters: 1/2×28 and M9.
