New Zombie Guns and Gear for 2012

New Zombie Guns and Gear for 2012

All right, so you've got your Zombie Max ammo, your arsenal has just been upgraded and you've taken every measure to zombie-proof your home.

You probably think you're completely prepared for the zombie apocalypse, right? Guess again. There are still plenty of items you hadn't even thought about stocking, and luckily for you, dozens of manufacturers at SHOT Show 2012 have rolled out the latest in zombie eradication instruments. Here's a look at some of our favorite zombie products, straight from SHOT Show.

EOTech XPS2-Z Zombie Stopper

When the zombies are bearing down on you, every bullet is precious. You can't afford to waste ammo shooting and missing the undead, lest you decide to foolishly leave your compound in search of more ammo. With the EOTech XPS2-Z Zombie Stopper, you won't have to worry about wasting any more rounds. This compact sight — the shortest from EOTech — allows for more rail space, allowing you to mount any other accessories to keep the zombies from making you their dinner. The XPS2-Z runs on a single CR123 battery with a life up to 600 hours — plenty of time for popping some zombie skulls.

Chiappa Zombie Blaster Shotgun

Looking for that perfect shotgun for when the zombies are craving a piece of your medulla oblongata? Chiappa's got you covered with the Zombie Blaster Shotgun. This 1887 lever-action features an 18.5-inch barrel with a pistol grip, available in 12 gauge with a 5+1 capacity. So you've got your shotgun; what about ammo€¦?

Lightfield Zombie Blaster Ammo

Lightfield's got your back, with its brand new Zombie Blaster Ammo. These 12 gauge non-projectile rounds provide a huge muzzle flash, packing an even bigger punch that's sure to blow some zombie heads off. Lightfield also states that the force generated is great enough to knock out doors and windows; talk about power.

Brownells AR-15/M-16 Zombie Hunter Flattop Upper Receiver

This laser-etched upper receiver from Brownells will let the walking dead know what the score is — assuming they can still read, that is. At any rate, these A3-style upper receivers are machined from aluminum alloy with hard dry-lube and anodizing to reduce wear and tear.

Gerber Apocalypse Kit

Gerber Gear has all the melee weapons you can think of with its Apocalypse Kit. This set includes the Gator machete and Gator Pro, the Camp Axe II, the Parang, LMF II Infantry, the DMF Folder and Epic knife. Of course, firearms are a priority when the walking dead come knocking, but heaven forbid, if that ammo should run out, you'd better have a Plan B.

Double Star J&T Zombie AK

Why bother carrying an additional melee weapon when you've already got one on your gun? The guys at DoubleStar brought out their J&T Zombie AK, fitted with an electric chainsaw on the barrel. The AK features a drum mag with an Aimpoint red dot sight, plus a rechargeable battery pack for the limb collector on the end — after all, when the zombies are mere feet away, there's no time to set your gun down and rev up your gas-powered chainsaw.

Otis Zombie Gun Cleaning System

Let's say your gun has taken on way more dirt and grime than you would have liked. Time for a cleaning, and Otis has the perfect kit for the job with its Zombie Cleaning System. Designed to clean all 5.56mm rifles, 9mm and .45-caliber pistols and 12 gauge shotguns, the Zombie Cleaning System includes 8- and 30-inch memory flex cables, four bronze bore brushes, a rubberized patch saver, precision tools for those hard-to-reach parts of your gun, a green bore reflector/flag safety, and D.O.A./85 Solvent. When the zombies are bearing down, you'd better have your gun in working order.

\"Lifelike\" Zombie Targets

These legitimately creepy and lifelike 3-D, bleeding targets from Zombie Industries displayed in Amchar Wholesales booth are freaky, yet versatile. Use them to shoot at on the range, then when Halloween rolls around, you can decorate your yard with them. They come in a variety of styles with the 'Green Zombie ' pictured. Want to really have fun? Wait til the wife is getting out of the shower and then bang this thing against the bathroom window from outside. She'll freak when she looks outside to see what the ruckus is, and since she just climbed from the shower, hopefully she won't be armed! (Note: If your wife showers with a sidearm, you have more things to worry about than zombies!)

MTM Caseguard Zombie Ammo Can

Not to be left out of the craze, MTM Caseguard developed its own Zombie shell boxes or in manufacturing parlance, 'ammo can. ' Use this to hold your ammo for any zombie shoot and should a bona fide invasion of the undead occur and the moaning, brain sucking creatures get to your ammo box first, the bright green clasps keep the box tightly closed and impossible for the stiff, peeling fingers of a zombie to remove cartridges. Wouldn't want them to use the rounds as suppositories on your frightened and struggling derriere.
