If you’re a subscriber to Guns & Ammo magazine, you may recognize Smith & Wesson’s K-Frame Classics reviewed in this segment from Guns & Ammo TV’s “At The Range” series. Competition shooter and author James Tarr joins Guns & Ammo Editor Eric Poole for some fun and to discuss why people still love these timeless revolvers.
The Model 19 Classic in .357 Magnum comes from the Performance Center and wears the classic styling of the original but contains all the benefits a modern stainless-steel barrel insert. The Performance Center Model 17 Masterpiece in .22LR is aptly named and continues to be a crowd pleaser. Poole loves the factory quality blue finish, walnut grips and spur hammer. Both guns have adjustable rear sights for precision work, and they satisfy the heart strings with a retro look and feel.
Though Smith & Wesson’s Performance Classics include certain modern features, the Model 17 and Model 19 are peerless. Whether collected or enjoyed at the range, these wheelguns will continue the legend for many years to come.
