Michael Bane, host of Shooting Gallery on Outdoor Channel and Shooting Gallery Online on MyOutdoorTV.com, met with Paul Reavis of Gear Head Works at NRA 2018 to take a look at the Tailhook pistol brace, as well as a pistol that Reavis has been working on personally.
The Tailhook is Gear Head Works' most popular product right now. This brace is the most compact pistol brace on the market. The brace flips open and hooks under the forearm to give stability. Any weight from the front of the gun is pushed up on the forearm, allowing the shooter to focus less on stabilizing the gun and more on trigger control.
Reavis gave Bane an inside look at the pistol he has been working on for the past few years. Reavis started with a virgin Remington Model Seven action, which is necessary to build a handgun, and added it to a modified aluminum chassis. He chambered the pistol in .300 Blackout. With the folding stock, the entire gun can fit into a backpack. It makes for a great hog hunting gun, and is just a ton of fun to shoot.
