Taurus is pretty outspoken about it’s position on concealed carry, along with its desire to reach out to new and non-shooters.
That’s why the company launched the Carry On Movement, a web community dedicated to the promotion and education of concealed carry laws.
“You are one among many,” the site’s front page reads. “A growing brotherhood and (yes!) sisterhood of those who choose a concealed carry lifestyle. Those who believe the Second Amendment is as vital to our freedom today as it was more than two centuries ago. Those who embrace the natural right to protect themselves, their loved onesâ€”even perfect strangersâ€”should danger arise. You are one among many. And weâ€™ve got your back.”
By logging in with Facebook, Twitter or an account created through Taurus’ website, users may choose their PH (Personal Handgun) Factor, badges that reflect the users carry lifestyle, including .22, .380, 9mm, .38, .357, .40 and .45. Users’ PH Factors are then posted publicly and may be shared through social media outlets.
For me, the choice was simple — .45 all the way. Authoritative and iconic, what’s not to love about the .45?
But the movement goes far beyond simply picking your favorite cartridge; it allows users to make their voices heard, to lend names and faces to the concealed carry movement, and it provides a valuable resource for those new to concealed carry. The site includes links for new shooters on state legality and concealed carry instructions from the NRA and NSSF, respectively, as well as the NSSF’s Where to Shoot, a site that allows shooters to locate the closest range.
The message is simple: We are a community that believes in the Second Amendment, one that believes in the right of personal protection for every American, and Taurus’ campaign lends credence to the fact that we are not alone in our opinions.
