8 Surprising Anti-Gun Celebrities

by G&A Online Editors   |  February 24th, 2012 416
Hollywood’s hypocrisy knows no bounds. While its multi-million dollar movie stars cash in on shoot ‘em up thrillers and cop dramas, they openly move to restrict gun ownership in this country. When the lights turn off and the cameras stop running, these stars put down their prop house guns and pick the Brady Campaign banner. When a fortune is made on the portrayal of guns on the silver and small screen and that cash turns into donations to the anti-gun lobby, it should make every Second Amendment supporter think: Where is my money really going?Fame is a powerful weapon, and it’s hard to believe that these celebs have anti-gun leanings. But they do.

Does this list change your opinion on these celebrities? Any other Brady-supporting stars we missed?

  • CEN

I think that is ridiculous that these movie stars and performers don't mind beeing guarded by armed security or playing gun toting characters but yet don't want the American people to not be able to own guns Wat if shania twains body guards couldn't have guns Wat type of security would they be they're hypocrisy knows no boundry just pitiful

    • aaron

How soon people forget that it was citizens with guns that won us our freedom. Money couldn't buy it.

    • rlg

      I AGREE WITH YOU CEN!!

    • frank n furter

yeah from jackasses CARRYING guns in the first place!!!!! if no one has guns, no one dies by a gun….what don't you get asshole?

      • Oen Big Step

If people don't have guns THE BIGGEST THUG ON THE STREET RULES THE ROOST!

      • Guest

Why don't you volunter to round up all the guns from the robbers, murderers, druggies, illegals and other that cause death, destruction and misery in the world.

      • Equalizer

        Ignorant!!!

      • ARMED&NOTEVIL

You think "the bad guys" will turn in their guns? Wake up and smell the chaos. There ARE regulations to get firearms and even more to get a CONCEALED firearm (at least in the Soviet Republic of California there is). I am an upstanding citizen and feel I have the Right to own a firearm to protect myself and my family. It's the people that don't follow the rules that hurt people with a gun…People kill People…Not Guns. You live in a fantasyland if you think taking guns away from people would ERASE gun violence…it would mean a more THUGS against DEFENSELESS CITIZENS

      • J Greer

You better rethink just who is the asshole here, asshole. The prohibitions against alcohol, drugs, prostitution, illegal immigrants, drunken driving, identity theift, shoplifting etc. etc. etc. have been roaring successes haven't they, asshole. You can stop a law abiding citizen from doing anything by passing a law but anyone intent on breaking the law will do so. To put that so you may be able to understand what I'm saying, there are laws now that prohibit felons, gangbangers, drug dealers, mental defectives, wife beaters or anyone with a criminal record from owning a firearm and if you read the papers or watch the news you'll understand 99% of the people committing crimes with a firearm are already prohibited by law from owning a firearm. I will not give up my firearm and willingly become a target for lawbreakers and if a lawbreaker kills me with my gun he'll beat me to death with it because I'll empty it into him before he takes it from me. Chew on that for a while, asshole.

        • the rifleman

          Bravo J Greer!

      • Jim

what a jerk off statement…crooks and bad guys will ALWAYS have guns…you talk like that and you act surprised when people die at the hands of muggers, robbers and scum because law abiding citizens can't defend their families. My guns stay locked in a fireproof safe..except by the bed at night…I keep ONE handgun…I have CHL permit..I don't always carry..and have never had to draw my weapon.

      • Robert

'frank n furter" we should have known with that name, he must have no brains!!

      • chuck

We get it all! And you're the "asshole" for thinking the way you do. It's a pity that you don't realize that when you take away my gun only the bad guys will have them. When that happens, I HOPE YOU ARE THE FIRST CASULTY!! Now do you get it "frank n furter" ? Probably not too bad.

      • Paladon

You are without a doubt in the top ten stupidest bastrds on Earth. If we let bastrds like you disarm people like me, the bad guys would be having their way with you and making you cry like a little btch.

      • Michael Carl

And if we didn't have bathtubs, no one would drown in one. If we didn't have cars, no one would be killed in an automobile accident. Both of these cause more accidental deaths in the U. S. every year than guns.

An interesting statistic for you. I looked up the violent crime rate in Massachusetts during the year the state imposed the Massachusetts Gun Control Act of 1998. That was the draconian law that made every one who owns a gun in MA to have a permit and to register the gun. Since the restrictive law was passed, number of murders each year has increased. The rest of the violent crimes like armed robbery and rape have remained unchanged.

So, after making people turn in un-registered guns with 'gun amnesty' days and restricting firearms ownership among the law-abiding, the murder rate went from 120 homicides in MA in 1998 to over 200 per year in 2010.

The other states' stats are similar. However, in states that allow concealed carry permits without all the restrictions, the murder rates usually go down. Check the FBI crime statistics.

Thus, gun control laws do nothing to reduce crime.

        • Ray

          Right on Michael Carl

      • Lloyd

I guess we would just beat your ass with a ball bat, asshole

      • Alan_T

Asshole ? Does your mother know you talk that way Frank ? … anyway , aren't you late for home room or something ?

      • John

Read your history–Adolpf Hitler started with gun control and look how many millions of people died because they could not protect themselves. If a killer broke into your home and threatened your loved ones. What would you do–talk to them? You are a candidate for a criminal.

      • patriot 86

Man you have your head up your tucus .What is the color of the sky in your little utopia because mines blue in the real world.

    • sickride21

I have to say it is some what hypocritical, but every one has a right to an opinion. I know I'll catch some flak for this, but shouldn't there be some measure of gun control? I mean who want convicted felons strolling the streets with fully automatic pistols in there waist-bands? I know I don't.

      • Bra

We already have measures of "reasonable gun control". Enforce the laws on the books, stop passing more.

      • john

Their ARE laws restricting such people, but they are NOT enforced.

    • Skip

I think that all forks and spoons should be banned because they make people fat. Famous people are all the same, any time they can make a statement no matter how bass akwards it is they will, as long as it gets them face time. If they ban everything that people have been killed with we would be back in the stone ages, no knives, cars, ropes, hammers, clubs, bats, crowbars, nail guns, bottles, no one can drink, and the list goes on….

    • roger

they dont mind making millions from shootumup movies , give me a break!

    • polarcat33

These guys know its just a movie. Lot smarter than you guys.

    • Tania

OMG! Only certain people with special training should be able to carry a gun. With a gun, comes certain power and responsibility. You put the gun in the hand of anybody, which is what you can do in the states, chances are people without the proper training will abuse it, thats how you get mass shootings. Make it harder to own a gun and only those with special training will get one as a part of the job.

  • squareWave

Arnold a "peace-loving guy"? LOL. More like a piece-loving guy.

    • vnv

      Rodger that square Wave

  • Andy

They want Gun Control, so Body Gaurds, police, security will have them, but not the Public, or if public do have them make it alot harder to get a license.

  • Jason

The hypocrisy is not so much that they use security that utilizes weapons. The true hypocrisy is that they use the tools they claim to hate to make millions of dollars and live the lifestyles many people who utilize guns for their own safety due to their life circumstances will never know. That's like a devoted vegan/PETA freak chowing down on a burger in a movie because it was written in the script. I highly doubt that would happen!

    • Rudy

More like a vegan/peta freak chowing down on a soy burger made out to be a real burger, hehehe. Since the guns in movies are props and not real ever since the Brandon Lee tragedy. But i get your point bro.

      • Velko

Rudy – not correct about props. If the gun FIRES/EJECTS on screen they're using REAL guns with blank ammo and blank adapters in the barrel. If the gun being filmed is NOT firing then yes, it MIGHT be a plastic, usually rubber replica.

    • Shari

      Well said, Jason.

  • Mike

wow, i am really surprised at Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, and Stallone.
I would have been surprised at Arnold if he wasn't the Gov. of California or any politician.

    • garry james

I met Matt Damon at a film preview in Hollywood ("The Brothers Grimm.") I talked to him for about 15 minutes telling him I was (at that time) the editor of "Guns & Ammo." He listened politely, asked questions, expressed an interest in what I had to say and was a total gentleman throughout our discussion. At the close of the converstion he shook my hand and said, "It was very nice to talk to you, Mr. James." That's my only exposure to him, and while I am totally aware of his political affiliations, he was certainly nothing but pleasant and agreeable during that meeting.

  • Ronbwolf

Thanks for writing this, I will endeavor to avoid movies that feature these hypocrites. They should be ashamed of their stance, especially those who make money from their impractical sensationalized use of firearms.

    • rlg

      I'M WITH YOU RON!!

    • whe

You don't have to deprive yourself of enjoying a good movie. Just check the movie out at your local library for free so you aren't paying these fools anything. Yes, I realize the library paid for it (& with our tax dollars), but they will have paid for it whether you are watching it or someone else is. I haven't paid money to see a movie in years.

      • ARsrule

If these turds are in the movie then it isn't really good is it? Why support them in any way free or not. You are just providing them with funds to forward their uninformed positions. Real shame about Shiana. Maybe if she would have let Mutt diddle with guns he wouldn't have diddled the Nanny.
Most of the Hollyweird types have a grossly exaggerated sense of their own importance in the world due to the liberal media's constant hyping of them as "important." Get over yourself people you're entertainers not someone that's really important like a soldier, fireman ,cop, EMT etc. Look at the way real important people handle themselves and get a reality check on how to present yourself in public you're an embarrassment to the American people.

  • Roland Ferguson

They are hippocrits, all of them. They make the big bucks as gun toting tough guys.

    • Winston

Until you can spell, please don't comment.

  • Cyrano

The actors who hate guns, especially Sean Connery, while playing character who make frequent use of them, stink of hypocrisy. If they feel that strongly that firearms ownership is E-V-I-L, they should not accept such roles to begin with. My opinion of Connery has definitely taken a turn for the worse.

  • OKronin

I am so relieved that Clint Eastwood was not listed.

    • tannersan

      Just an anti-hunter.

    • Donald

ha! I said the same thing!

    • patriot 86

You and me both my friend .I would have been absolutely devastated if names like clint eastwood ‘ charles bronson or the duke john wayne had been added. These guys are real actors and men ‘not all the pussies listed like arnie or stallone .

  • tanstaafl2

This is sad, but not surprising – you have to have a strong narcissism streak to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Remember, "It's all about me!" could be their motto (followed closely by, "Do as I say – not as I do", and "Rules are for the little people").

Many celebrities and politicians (another flavor of celebrity) are truly pathetic and mentally ill in their need for approval and affirmation for their own self-worth. As long as the mainstream fawns on them for supporting gun control, they'll do it.

    • OmegaONe

      tanstaafl2,

You hit square. It's all about the publicity and being with the "IN CROWD". Not one of them thinks for themselves. They have to go along to get along. If not, they would be chastised from the ONE WORLD gang and thrown from their lucrative positions. Sad really. It's all propaganda now, and most likely always has been.

    • tanstaafl2

However, this need for affirmation and approval can work in our favor. As pro-gun attitudes have become more and more common among the U.S. population, we will eventually reach a critical mass. At that point when they get more affirmation and approval for PRO-gun positions than they do for anti-gun ones, they will start to switch over. I still won't trust the flip-floppers, but they will be (at least nominally) on our side at that point.

    • Tim

      Well said!!

  • Tommy

Hypocrites all of them. They sure don't mind taking a multi-million dollar salary from these filthy things that freak them out. I will never go to another one of their movies again. You forgot George (The American) Clooney where he plays a hitman. Mira (The Replacement Killers) Sorvino. Take the guns away from their bodyguards too while we're at it. Lets be fair about this now. Can't have the "old double standard" now can we? Not in Amerika…

    • Ben

I agree that the majority are hypocrites, in that many have played roles that blatantly and unrealistically glorify guns, but acting is by definition playing someone who you are not, and so it doesn't follow that an actor who picks up a gun for their character (clooney plays a weary disillusioned hitman in The American by the way) is a hypocrite.
And I hate how black and white so many gun forums make things. I am not against gun ownership myself but the way some talk (or comment online, I should say) it makes me feel like I've got to pick a side and the side I'd like to be on is full of assholes.

  • ChrisGo

I don't understand how anyone could not see that the general public would be at the mercy of gun-toting criminals if guns were banned. Criminals will always get guns one way or another. They would have nothing to fear…I don't like my odds of holding a knife at a gun fight.

    • frank n furter

I like mine…ever heard of Krav Maga? Well then come out from under your rock little scared one….seems all you gun nuts are AFRAID….. lol! need guns to fight ppl, fight like a man hand to hand….

      • nobody important

what about the little granny that cannot get around like you Martial artists. Some people cannot stand toe to toe and slug it out. should they just roll over and die?

      • Nate

I envision you as a twelve-year-old child, Frank n Furter. I find your very presence here laughably pathetic.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001493828705 Jimbo Rollins

        fnf,
if I had nothing to defend my children or wife with except my two bare hands or a knife, you can bet that I would put up the best fight I could. However, the best defense would be to arm myself with a decisive weapon.
Your attitude of "come out from your rock", "fight like a man", "hand to hand", I love my "Krav Maga" all hints toward either a bloodlust on your part(the reason decent people need to defend themselves) or just a stupid desire to start arguments on the internet to compensate for something lacking in your life.
Don't come to a forum like this in the first place. Go find professional help.

      • Kimo

Frank, it seems to me like you're suffering from a severe case of "retarded." Fear has nothing to do with this. I'm a trained MAC fighter. Although not Krav Maga (The Israeli commando martial arts), Modern Army Combatives is still very formidable. I am also a trained knife fighter, survivalist, and competition marksman (competitive pistol, clays, and target rifle). Would I be able to fend-off some psychopath by hand? Absolutely. However, I would much rather stop that person at 25yards (most self-defense shooting is done at 25yards or less). If anyone attacks me, I'm going to assume they have a weapon. After they eat all 15 rounds from my Beretta and are still a danger to me, then I'll gut them and break their neck. Maybe we should take a vote now and see who these fine people would rather have protecting them in a sticky situation, Me? or Mr. Krav Maga?

      • spike1point5

Relax mate. I'm what you seem to term a gun nut, and I carry concealed quite a bit. I also happen to have been practicing Lethwei since I was 10 and Sambo since I was 17. I also served in the British Commandos, and as such am rather good at surviving, with whatever weapon I need. But, I would rather not risk some mugger getting lucky in a scrap, and as such my first resort would be to pull my Browning. Just easier and safer. I am (permit me a slight moment of vanity) a crack shot, and therefore I'd feel a lot safer knowing that I can drop him from 30 yards out, before he has a chance to get me. OF course, this isn't foolproof, so if after that he got close enough, I'd pull one of my knives and make sure he stayed down. P.S. LEARN TO SPELL! Your ridiculous abbreviations make your comments harder to read than your ridiculous views do, and that's saying something.

      • Alan_T

OOoooh Frank , Frank , Frank , you should go take another hit off of your bong or get your meds adjusted …. or something . Now go do your homework while the adults talk .

    • KJ

100% brother its that damn simple cut and dry This controversy screams media pollution. It sickens me to see how they can take a situation, so painfully obvious of its proven outcome, and make it sound any way they want.

  • David G.

These people are simply not telling the truth. They are being, excuse my swearing, being POLITICALLY CORRECT.

  • wayne

Well, haven't been to a movie in a long time. And I can tell you I will not be going to any ,,, of these people's listed here ever again … As for little miss canada, her albums just got tossed. As for – stalone- england can keep the hasben lol.

    • frank n furter

wow-i don't think those folks need your money anyway!

  • Brian

ChrisGo, you're absolutely right. These morons seem to forget that drugs are illegal and yet one can buy them in any town in America, but seem to think if guns were illegal then nobody would be able to get them. Idiots! Narcissistic and myopic doesn't even begin to describe most of them, they can't see beyond their own desires. While I know of no one that desires violence in their lives, I choose the right of self defense by .40 or .45 (or possibly .357 or .410, or even 12 gauge). :-) I've carried a gun for work and never have had a desire to injure another, but would do so in an instant if I or my loved ones were threatened. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

    • Gargola

i love the way you think my man

  • http://www.facebook.com/PastorDanMoore Daniel Moore

I'm not surprised. Remember to be an actor you have to be good at playing "make-believe" as we called it when I was a child. Actors are just good at imitating. A child can do it. So what you have are some pampered folks who have not really grown up in the real world. Or who believe they need to be protected from the real world – the peasants – who can't be trusted to handle guns responsibly. Yet they hire bodyguards? And what makes them different from the rest of us 'peasants'? Hmmmm. I guess when you become famous the air gets a little too thin up there in their ivory towers and affects their brains a bit.

  • Walter

When these morons get money, they are like obammy , they think they are smarter than everyone else, and should tell the pesants what to do !!! DO AS I SAY NOT AS I DO…Take the secret service away for obammy see how he likes being unprotected, he would cry like the baby he is !!

  • spike1point5

Hey, their views, their business. I love guns, who here doesn't, but tighter restrictions? Maybe not such a bad thing. I speak as one who doubts any tighter restrictions would apply, but eh. I also will continue to watch the films starring the actors you mentioned above. I'm also not really understanding why everyone is going nuts over protection details carrying guns. Maybe I'm hoplessley stupid, but I think that most of the comments here are a bit over the top and, I might add, doing gun owners no good in the process. Seeing comments like the one above, looking from the outside (sorry, mate, just the first example I saw) would not inspire me to think "ok, gun owners aren't that bad, give them some leeway." It would make me think "really? We're letting people who respond like that to CELEBRITY VIEWPOINTS carry weaponry?" Just saying, guys. Protest tighter gun laws, but for God's sake be sensible about it. Don't just jump at every piece of anti-gun propaganda you see like a rabid dog. You do yourselves more harm than good.

    • NRA RON

I notice you called us " MATE " spike 1point 5 could it be you are a "subject" " not a citizen" …The very last thing we need is someone from a country that is ruled by a king and queen ,who has been litterally SAVED from the country that follows the constatution and yes the 2nd ammendment (ww1 & ww2 ) to tell us how we should discuse our anti gun polatics. When you clean up your own mess in the u.k. –south africa — australia –ect ect then we will feel a little better about listening to your advice on how we discuse the gun control wakkados in america .. I just watched a commercial the other day from england and australia where they were literally CUTTING thousands upon thousands of long guns and pistols with chop saws .If you dont believe me look it up on youtube . So I say to you MATE remember this post the next time some country invades yours and you as US AMERICANS to come to your rescue with our guns ..

      • spike1point5

Sorry, friend, you go too far. I've got dual citizenship, and as such, you have NO grounds for this. The fact I consider myself Scottish by birth has NO bearing WHATSOEVER on my views on guns. You mean saved BY the country that follows the constitution, even though there was no saving. As I recall the British lasted for years without your help, you arrogant bastard. I AGREE with your views on guns, as I stated above! I just don't agree with your policy of attacking those who don't follow your views. You also don't do much to damage my argument with comments like the one above. If I didn't agree with your views on gun ownership, I wouldn't live here, would I? All I said was don't get so worked up about these people, if they choose to be idiots, let them! I see no reason to listen to their views, but I respect their rights to have them. Why is evveryone so annoyed about this?! I only want to advocate tolerance of others!

        • Rem1875

Try telling the other side about tolerance. You may want to read some post from the other side to see where the real intolerance is. We have turned the other cheek several times and awe received for it was more black eyes and less freedom. Look to your own homeland to see how much being reasonable has helped the subjects vs the criminals.

          • spike1point5

By the other side, in this case you would be referring to celebrities? As far as I was aware, one of the things the free world in general, and the USA in particular, claimed to truly support was the right to have your own beliefs and views. To then rant at these people for expressing themselves freely, while simultaneously trying to hold up the constitution, is kind of hypocritical. You're trying to uphold the Second at expense of the First.

          • semperfi_brat

Agree that in a free society, anti-gun celebrities have the right to express their views. But also in a free society, we don't have to like or agree with their viewpoints. And there are consequences – if you don't like what a celebrity says, then you have the right to not support their work!

          • spike1point5

Definitely, you're 100% right. I just find the whole name-calling thing a bit childish. "Hypocrite! Moron! Asshole!" If someone shouted this at me for owning guns, I'd probably hit him. So yeah, we can (and indeed should) disagree with their views, we don't HAVE to stop watching their films JUST BECAUSE of these views. A lot of people on this board have remarked how much they enjoyed the films these actors were in before their views became known. Political standing is no reason to dislike a film. Example: I'm not Asian, but I liked Ip Man, and would watch more such films. I'm not in favour of banning firearms, but I'll still watch Damon's films. Same principle.

    • wolf56

exaggeration and mendacity are the tools we face from the anti gun groups. good to read a reasonable comment.

    • Von Lute

Absolutely right-on! Some people just choose to overreact to everything, including those both for and against anything sensible people would agree on. Let them be anti-gun, they'll change their mind the next time paid security is not around, then they'll have to "man-up" or be victims.

    • Tony

you're right. you are hopelessly stupid

  • Rich

As a Vietnam Vet I now have 8 more people to compare to Hanoi Jane. Too bad, cause I really liked Shania….

    • SemperFlyBoy

Rich, my brother, no one can compare to Jane. She will forever remain at the absolute bottom of the celebrity cesspool.
      Semper Fi.

      • semperfi_brat

Agree completly. She should be tried for treason and thrown in a POW camp as punishment.

    • Alan_T

In all seriousness , she should have been tried and convicted of treason .

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002122523817 Ronnie Burnett

THEY SEEM TO FORGET THAT GUNS WON THE FREEDOM THAT LETS THEM MAKE MILLIONS WHILE PLAYING BAD /GOOD GUYS/GALS ON SCREEN.

  • flatlander

Not the first suprise with Matt Damon & Mark Wahlberg not a suprise at all.

    • RichardH

Damon, I'm not surprised about, but Wahlberg did surprise me. Marky didn't graduate highschool until recently, so we're not talking about an intellectual giant here.
Hypocrites! I don't support the Scientology actors (Cruise, Travolta, etc.) and now I will no longer support these hypocritical characters by avoiding their movies at the box office, movie rentals, etc.

  • Rick

Boy what a bunch of idiots we have in the movies. They tote guns in there movies but hate them..In my eyes there nothing but a buch of hipacrits. wake up hollywood. If not for those of us who believe in the second amendment and are advacaytes for our rights to keep and bear arm your sorry asses wouldn't have the right to speak out aginst us.
And to those who are against our rights but yet have armed gards, you have nothing to say against gun controle. You can't have it both ways you idiots.

    • patriot 86

Nope they cant.best way to shut them up is to boycott their movies and watch them cry when their movies bomb cuz no one pays to see them.

  • Bruce Evans

That's why they are called actors. They are pretending. They aren't real, and we should not think of "characters" as real people. They are fake.

  • RLG

SPIKE I THINK YOU ARE AN IDIOT. TIGHTER RESTRICTIONS YOU SAY? THEY ARE AS TIGHT AS I EVER WANT TO SEE THEM AS IT IS. CELEBRITY VIEWPOINTS SHOULD BE JUST THAT, KEPT TO THEMSELVES. NO BODY SEEMS TO CARE WHAT MY OPINION IS SO WHY SHOULD I CARE WHAT THE CELEBRITY OPINIONS ARE?

    • spike1point5

YOU shouldn't. In fact, if you don't, why are you getting worked up about this? I agree, they have no reason to air their views at random, but it isn't as though they have suddenly got up one morning and run through town going "BAN GUNS! BAN ALL GUNS AND CRUCIFY THOSE WHO USE THEM! CURSE YOU ALL!" They've been asked in interviews, and given their honest answers. No biggie. The truth of the matter is, for better or for worse, people do listen to celebrities more than they do to regulars. I don't think that's right, but I can't change it, so just accept it and move on. It's also stupid to not watch a perfectly decent film just because you don't agree with the actor's principles. Seriously, what are we, 5? Let's think about this like adults. People are entitled to their views, after all, ours are probably just as offensive to them. What's the big deal, really?

      • whe

Apparently you didn't read the article. Some of them may have been asked in interviews but most of these "celebrities" have signed their names to petitions & other anti-gun proposals. In the case of Connery he did ads for the British government. They may not be running through town but they are going out of their way & using their "status" to present their views, not just commenting when asked in an interview.

        • spike1point5

I suppose that's true. Still, if you had the clout to give your views the same weight, wouldn't you? I may not agree with their views, but I will defend to the death their rights to have them, to paraphrase. Personally, if enough people payed attention to me, I would be doing all I could to promote the ownership and use of guns, and if someone came up to me and delivered the same sentiments as are being expressed on here, in the same manner, they'd be starting a fight. So, I don't really think it's fair to respond like this, you would all be the first ones to scream at people picketing pro-gun celebrities. I don't disagree with your basic viewpoints, just the way you're going about expressing it.

      • Alan_T

Well ….. since I changed from Alan to Alan_T I know my agreeing with you on this is going to drive my ratings way down ( ratings … get it , ratings ? …. as in movie ratings …. uh ,,,, well …. maybe it's not as funny as I thought ….. ) , but Spike , I have to agree with you on this .
However , it still galls me that a bunch of phony hypocrites make money off of it .

        • spike1point5

That's true I guess. That never really bothered me because actors also play serial killers, paedophiles, terrorists and God knows what else. They are just doing the job they get paid to do. My anger is rather more focused on writers and directors who claim to be anti-gun, but then write/direct the films. It's rather like my argument about soldiers, they can't help what they get paid to do, blame the people who sent them there. I understand why people get frustrated, but I'm not going to stop enjoying films just because I don't happen to agree with the actor. That's just cutting off your nose to spite your face. I mean, I loved "Dr. No," and still do. Doesn't matter what Connery's personal views are, he happens to be a good actor. Simple.

    • T.D. Honeycutt

I appreciate your viewpoint, but turn off the capitals. It's like you are shouting on the Internet.

    • DAVEINWYOMING

THANX, RLG, TOOK THE WORDS RIGHT OUT OF MY MOUTH!

  • LLS

How about an article about pro-gun celebs.

    • Larry

I agree. This subject demands a follow up one with the top 10 pro gun celeb's! I think we'd all like to know who we should be looking up to on the big screen.

  • Woodrow Call

I can understand them being actors and playing parts. Just because someone plays a vilian doesn't mean they are in real life, in fact it's harder to play a role opposite of how you really are. However to play something your against that really promotes somthing your truly against in somthing all together different. Stallone, Connery and Walberg were real surprises.

  • T.D. Honeycutt

Not surprising what you document here, since the word hypocrite comes from the Greek word used to describe a stage actor.
But I cannot fathom why Rosie O'Donnell isn't A No. 1 Anti-Gun Celebrity. She rails against guns, but doesn't want the state to come into her bedroom, and then she hires gun-toting security to protect her and her children. Hypocrisy at its finest.
I say let's pass a law that requires Mark Wahlberg to grab his wanger every time he would use a firearm in a scene in one of his shoot-em-up movies.

    • Larry

I believe what they are getting at is Anti-gun celeb's that use, promote or glorify guns in movies. I'm not sure Rosie Palm O'Donnell every touched a gun.

  • curtis crab

from today forward i will not be contributing to the wealth of these individuals by purchasing their movies, music or what ever. it is so typical of people to say one thing and do the opposite. most of these people have made millions using guns to entertain us. why can't they be honest and turn down roles that conflict with their ideology. it's the money, i forgot. anything for a dollar. sell your soul if you can make a buck. not one shred of honesty among the group. so sad.

    • Mike

Hey, I won't be an enabler with these actors either, but I won't stop there. I also won't support any advertisers for the national news programs that are cheerleaders for our liar
      -in-chief.

  • Chiefbuck

Thanks for posting the list, I'll avoid watching and paying to see any of their efforts in the future.

  • Brooks

I was just held at gun point last month with my family in the car. We had just loaded groceries in the car when I was sure he was a law abiding citizen with a registered fire arm approached me and demanded my money. I am a ccw holder and I was carrying but I didn't have a chance. He was caught about an hour later. the point is he was caught with an illegal fire arm and was a career criminal. I could have lost my life over $40 dollars. I don't think the powers to be have enough intelligence to make rules to get the guns out of the hands of bad guys and not take away the rights of the good guys. I am definitely more attentive when in public and I will protect myself and my family at all cost. My advise is you need to arm your self take training and practice, practice, practice because gun control is when you can hit your target. Be safe and shoot straight.

    • SSGT

The CCW does not include GUTS..you have to furnish your own…nuff said..

      • eliwhit

I don't think that that was necessarily an appropriate remark! You do not know how dangerous it may have been for his family and it isn't quite like the movies dude it is for real when held at gunpoint bye a criminal! Given what was said he may have done the most prudent thing under the circumstances which we are not privileged to all of these! You have 3 seconds to make a life and death decision which includes the safety of your loved ones! It has nothing to do with Guts and a lot more to do with Brains and quick thinking! Brooks I apologize for this idiot SSGT and his accusation!

        • patriot 86

YEAH IF IT HAD BEEN THIS IDIOTS FAMILY ‘ RATHER THAN SEEING THE DANGER HE WOULD HAVE FURTHER PUT HIS FAMILY IN ‘ THIS HE MAN WOULD HAVE CLEARED LEATHER AND PROBABLY GOTTEN THEM ALL KILLED.YOU DID RIGHT MAN THE SAFETY OF YOUR FAMILY COMES FIRST DONT EVER APOLIGIZE FOR THAT.NOT EVERY SITUATION WARRANTS THE USE OF FORCE .WERE HE ALONE THEN YES MAYBE HE WOULD HAVE REACTED DIFFERENTLY.SSGT WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU TO JUDGE YOU ASSHOLE.THEYRE ALL ALIVE AND WELL THATS ALL THAT MATTERS .LET THE COPS APPREHEND THE CROOKS WE DONT NEED IDIOTS LIKE YOU TRYING TO TAKE THE LAW INTO YOUR HANDS AND POSSIBLY GETTING A INNOCENT BYSTANDER KILLED.A CONCEAL CARRY PERMIT IS NOT A LICENSE TO TRY AND INTERVENE WHEN A CRIME IS BEING COMMITTED BUT FOR YOUR OWN PERSONAL PROTECTION WHICH BETTER BE IN DIRE JEOPARDY BEFORE YOU SHOOT SOMEONE OR YOULLE BE THE ONE BEHIND BARS.

      • A real SSG E-6

What a stupid remark. I do hope that you were not a SSG in the U.S. Army. My brother SSGs are usually smarter than that.

"Guts" is one thing. Having the brains to evaluate a situation and know whether to fire or whether to lose $40 is something else.

        'Nuff said, indeed.

  • Big John T

Some of these actors in their "walking tank" scenes are probably harming lawful gun ownership as much as anything else. So many I have heard from truely believe all gun owners desire this on mainstreet America. We all know better but you cannot talk to many of them. I appreciate their roll actors and wish they would respect ours as lawful gun owners and the ones that pay for their security. Shameless abuse of their place as American roll models, personal option should stay personal. The cameras give them more votes than the rest of us.

    • eliwhit

These mentally challenged Actors are Leftist and most of them are extremely Narcisistic (self love indulgent) individuals. They have let their fame go to their heads just as power corrupts likewise fame falls in this catagory as well!

  • frank n furter

Also, hollywood movies = FICTION, so if Bacon makes a movie about child molesters-i.e. tin woodsman-do you actually think he is a molester irl? get a grip you inbred hicks!

    • Alan_T

" Inbred hicks ", huh ? ….. I'm going to guess that you're in high school frank and using this forum to be obnoxious because you can't get away with it in real life .

    • daveinwyoming

appears the franks in your furter, who's the inbred hick here? Dumbass, go finish yer homework!

    • spike1point5

Shut it, you annoying little twat. You'll notice I pointed out that ranting mindlessly at gun control nuts makes it more likely people will side with them? Same goes here. Nonsensical and irritating comments are just as bad on this side, and it drives down the credibility of those of us who are trying to make a reasoned and intelligent argument. Please, please, please stop trying to help. You're just making things worse.

    • Gun Toting American

Yeah, Hollywood movies= entertainment. If you think child molestation is entertainment you should be shot.

    • Phil Lindquist

Just because someone respects what our founding fathers considered the second most important thing to put in the constitution. The first amendment is freedom of speach, the second is the right to keep and bear arms. Doe's this mean Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and long list of others are a bunch of red neck hicks?
Do you realize that where the gun control is at it's most strict, the gun violence is the worst. Chicago, Washington D.C. and Los Angles all have the strictest gun control in the United States, along with the highest murder rates. Today thanks mostly to the NRA and the Republican party, along with enough Demacrats that have enough sense to do what the voters want, 80 percent of the country make it easy to get a concealed carry permit. And guess in the last 8 years the gun deaths has gone down 30 to 40 percent. The gun violence from a legal concealed carry holder is less than one percent and there are more concealed carry holders than ever before.
They did a study in the prison system and there biggest fear is the number of armed home owners second was dogs. Legal concealed carry holders commit less than 1% of firearms related crimes. Your havens with the strict est gun control have the highest murder rates….Where guns are banned, only criminals have guns.
I think we are doing pretty well for a bunch of in bred hicks. Phil

Shania Twain is NOT Canada's gift to country music – Hank Snow was!

    • the rifleman

Shania Twain was never thought to be any kind of "country music" singer here in the US, and still isn't. She is at best, a "karaokee singer"! She's probably not considered any kind of "gift" to Canada either.

      • http://www.facebook.com/cjleete Christopher Leete

She's a pop singer with a phony accent.

    Dear NRA:

I would respectfully like to nominate Mr. Wahlberg as your next quotable celebrity on an NRA poster, for his acknowledgment — by an admitted anti-gun person — that the good people in this world should carry pistols: “Well, I would love it if they could take all the guns away. Unfortunately, you can’t do that so you hope that good people in the world have them to protect the people who can’t protect themselves.”
How often do you get an anti-gun celebrity endorsing the need for personal firearms? It's like having Putin say that the United States is a wonderful country.

  • MtrCtyMdMn

All I can say about it is THANK GOD FOR TED NUGENT!!!!

  • Phildog9729

You can bet that everyone of these hypocrites has their head firmly stuck up Obummers rectum.

One Canadian, One Brit, and One Austrian, plus five New Englanders.

I am glad they are not a part of my life.

  • AKMORTY

All the Democrat assholes who want to ban guns should be shot between the eyes and have the back of their
shulls blown off for treason against the Constitution of the United States of America. The only reason we are here today, and not in a communist state,(yet) is because of brave new Americans who stood up against the British assholes. I would love to see all the loser antigun jerks sent back in time to the time when out country
was just getting started, BECAUSE THEY WOULD ALL BE DEAD, AND THE WORLD WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE TODAY. LONG LIVE THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATED OF AMERICA

    • dan

I think you are an agent provocateur.

      At least, I hope so.

    • SmokeP

These are the kinds of postings used by many paid Progressive Trolls on the internet to make it seem as if all of us gun owners are violent murders, who throw out the word "constitution" a lot.

    • Alan_T

Hmmmmmmm , either you are mentally deficient or as dan said , some sort of agent provocateur . In any case , I smell a rat AKMORTY .

    • Ernie

Seriously?? You think that someone who dislikes guns should be shot in the head?? Man get a grip, it is idiots like you that give honest law abiding gun owners a bad name. Anyone with an attitude like that should have his own gun rights taken away!

  • mdroisum

Not exactly sure why this list is thought of as 'surprising'. I'm not surprised at all! Especially with Matt Damon, what a Libtard that guy is!

  • danimal

Well we're all bitchin up a storm over this, but who's really surprised? I live in the sad state of Illinois and see this kind of thing all day every day. One thing I've been doing activley over the years is refuse to do business with those who don't support me and my views. What is needed is more exposure to those that attack us. I have my own business and as soon as 5th 3rd Bank openly supported Daley's gun grab I closed all my accounts there and told them why. They were really shocked but could do nothing about it. Phillips petroleum did something similar so no more Phillips. Needless to say I won't purchase any Heinz products either. What gun owners and the NRA need to do is compile a list of the Anti-gun companies and boycott them. Write them a letter and tell them about it too. If it hits them in their pocket book they might think twice before shooting their mouths off next time. Hit em where it HURTS $$$$$$! We gun-owners are a huge force if we only had enough sense to make ourselves heard! If we all had targets to protest I'll bet we could cost these companies at least 10 to 30% loss in annual sales! FOLLOW THE MONEY!!!!

    • PKAISF

+1 danimal – We all need to vote with our dollars. When we hit them in their wallets, they will sing a different tune.

    • Big John T

couldnt agree more. I feel that it is the vote of the citizen and not the influence of business, big or small, that should guide the country. The constitution stands as the supreme law of the land and must continue to do so. Don't like the way we do it here you can poitely return to canada or simply imiigrate there. Their gun laws should be more to your liking and if not there are many others to choose from.

    • Alan_T

I agree 100% , there is a grocery chain called Scnucks ( spelling ? ) , when they came to the community that I live in , I told every one I knew that I wouldn't ( still don't ) do business with them because they were big contributors to Handgun Control Inc. ( that was the Brady Bunches moniker of the day at the time ) . I loved Smith & Wesson , but when they were owned by the Brits and they caved to Bill Clinton and his crowd I refused to buy from them ( happily that's no longer the case ) . I used to be a Democrat but , I became a one issue voter …. if they don't support the 2ND Amendment ….. I don't vote for them … period .

    • Cole

You are exactly right and I congratulate you. I have said this exact same thing. Why not boycott any movie featuring these types

    • George Petricko

I like that idea! print a list, I won't spend my hard earned $
      to support them.

    • Mike

      AMEN!

  • Gringolobo

    …Luckily, Clint was not here….! :)

    • Alan_T

Yes , we can all sigh a breath of relief that Clint wasn't listed , the earth is still turning on it's axis .

  • just no

With the exceptionof Twain who as a senior family member lived on game shot with her 22 and shot gun, i believe she may be influenced by her peers, the ones she hangs with. I believe the rest. But DAM Shania is attractive and can really sing good.

    • patriot 86

Bullshit ‘ shes got a fricken mouth to use for more than singing ‘if she wasnt against gun ownership she would say so.Also if she was being influenced by her peers shes smart enough to know that you change the people you hang out with when you dont want to be labeled with them.

What I find hard to believe is that anybody gives a crap what these people think. After I watch a movie I turn it off and it is over forever. What is this fascination with celebrities ? Rosie the fat, What is her claim to fame? She would not even make a good moving target. We get born, we screw around for a while and then we die. I don't have time to concern myself with these soon to be dead peoples opinions.

    • Big John T

I only care because their undue influence can sway others and thart may affect me and mine. It is not their place to decide how we live.

    • Alan_T

I only care because young people especially form their opinions from what they see on big and little screens . If these actors become their hero's , then they will emulate them , to the detriment of us all .

  • Bar Sinister

Not surprising except for Connery. I saw him on TV in skeet shooting competition years ago. He wasn't bad.

Have to agree with you rifleman, Shania is considered a country singer??
It is like the old commercial about I'm not a doctor but I played one, in this case it is I'm not a gun enthusist but I play one! and get paid well for it !!
I'm only sorry I don't have the money to buy a couple more guns. I have always been taught good gun control was being able to hit the target !!!!
Lets here more about celebs that are PRO gun, but it is good to know who is against them.
I think someone once said keep your friends close and your enemies closer

  • DeltaOneSix

It's about guns for the rich and privledged, us common folks don't rate.

    • DeltaOneSix

One extra comment, actors and celebrities should stay out of politics and setting policy, and stay with what you know, "Acting". Your popularity in the media should not be used to further your version of what the "perfect society" is. The Genie is out of the bottle so to speak there, you would have had to confiscate the guns when we got here originally in 1607. Fortunately for us the Native Americans did not have a real strict gun control policy, or we would all still be a colony of the British Empire and saying "your highness" everywhere we went.

      • Big John T

You are right dude! rosie odonnell is a prime example, She ranted and raved for a year about the K-MART guy with the 22 bought in the store and then offed himself in the parking lot! An Actor is the best example of two for the price of one. One is the Role a caricature based on a script acted out on the screen. Two is a person subject to the same moral dilemmas we all may face. Some go the the easy way, the feel good way of a light weight mind. Some take a higher road of thought leading them closer to reality. A reality even as easy to arrive at as, people kill what they use is not the problem. Many actors off screen are light weight thinkers reading from the feel good script saying "Take the guns; It's for the children". Folks we have an educational problem not a gun problem. What actors say their personal views are matters not but to get people thinking, it's a good thing. The Jason Bourne series was good entertainment, what Matt Damon thinks personally does not seem to effect gun handling on screen.

    • Sal M

Just notice the differences in personality between the anti's and the pro list. Although all in the same line of work the level of class (or lack of desire to be seen) is way up on the pro side.

Don't forget Lee Ermey who's now on the NRA board!

I own guns. I'm not a victim. My family is safe. Home invaders are not. I do believe in gun control. Gun control is being able to group your shots in the bullseye.

  • Sal Matos

Whats really sad is the fact that actos generally (not all) lack the fortitude to stick with any idea. They are the social chameleons of the world. They will strive to fit into whatever niche is necessary to be succesful or to satisfy that inante need to be popular. When you think about it, its scary that so many in this country (if not the world) look up to them as some sort of symbol of what this country is like, they are most likely the weakest personalities out there and we go around placing them on pedestals because of their abilities to mold themselves into what they aren't.

I gotta stop, I can go all day long, I got rounds to make…

    • Alan_T

Hmmmm I think you could substitute the word politician for actors and have the end result . …… hey , wait a minute ….. ARNOLD's a politician ….. OMG ….maybe we're onto something here ……….. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I never thought about that. All the same traits. The first plumber that runs for president is getting my vote.

ALL I GOT TO SAY IS IF YOU TAKE A LOOK AT HISTORY OF GERMANY, WHEN HITLER TOOK OVER THE COUNTRY WITH HIS BROWN SHIRTS…. REGISTRATION FIRST, CONFISCATION SECOND AND SLAVERY THIRD AND CONSINTRATION CAMPS. ONLY THE GOVERNMENT WILL BE ARMED, WE BECOME HELPLESS,DEFENCELESS AND ENSLAVED…..

    • spike1point5

Yes, I can see the parallel…Hitler, who was actually well known for his recommendation that EVERY German male should own a gun and practice regularly, is EXACTLY the same as people who want to ban guns. Please do your research before using such analogies. Also, just a little bit of nitpicking: Whilst I ABSOLUTELY, let me stress this, agree with the general idea of owning guns, hell, I wouldn't be on here if I didn't, just because someone doesnt have a gun does not make them defenseless. Most of Europe seems to manage just fine. Please turn off the caps lock, because as I believe I pointed out before, mindless rants do your cause more harm than good. This is actually why more and more people are turning away from guns, because reasoned, measured arguments WILL prevail over sheer volume. Just saying.

  • Rachel

Don't worry about it, after this country goes commie, these hollyweird cowards, who mostly have NEVER been in a REAL war, will be the first ones to be gunned down. Commie's don't much like yellow-bellied whiners.

  • Tim

Miick, you beat me to it. Hitler disarmed hi own people in 1935. Look what then happened!

    • g washington

Yes he then trained them and brain washed them and re armed them, so they could kill 20 million plus people with guns.
Your logic is? If you want to keep your guns you have to be able to stop the red necks from speaking……..this whole blog is an ammo dump to the opposition.

Nazi Weapons Act of 1938 (Translated to English)

    Classified guns for "sporting purposes".
All citizens who wished to purchase firearms had to register with the Nazi officials and have a background check.
Presumed German citizens were hostile and thereby exempted Nazis from the gun control law.
Gave Nazis unrestricted power to decide what kinds of firearms could, or could not be owned by private persons.
The types of ammunition that were legal were subject to control by bureaucrats.
Juveniles under 18 years could not buy firearms and ammunition.

History shows that gun control can be a bad thing.

I am not saying anyone in the anti camp is a nazi! just pointing out that in germany 1938 there was similar legislation on the table. Thank you grandpa for not giving up your guns even when they were strafing you with machineguns . And remember folks they (nazi party) thought only the good guys should have guns too.

  • Bama

All these actors who use gin sn their movies are liberal hypocrits who have no patriotism.

  • danimal

JimG Great list! Would you happen to have a list of anti gun companies? I think it would be of great help if we were to Boycott those who are against us, ie Tim Robbins, Sean Penn and that old hag Robbins is married to. Maybe we could compile a list and get G&A or the NRA to publish it. Like I said Hit em in their pocket book. Being from ILLinois I've seen it, Jesse just bitches a little bit and threatens companies and they roll over like a puppy for a milkbone. Like I said earlier if you threaten even 10 or 20% of their bottom line alot of companies go under. That would get them thinking much more than a bunch of worn out cliches ever will. Gotta LOVE Les Baer got sick of Illinois's crap so he moved his company across the river to Iowa. Now we need Smith & Wesson to follow RUGERS lead and get out of the land of communisim they help support.

    • Tommy

Here's the list everyones been looking for. I found it on the NRA's site. Just another reason to join and support their(our) efforts to keep the 2nd Amendment alive and well. http://www.gunreports.com/special_reports/handgun…

    • Heretic

Speaking for Iowa, we're glad to have him.

  • 2WarAbnVet

I haven't watched any new James Bond movie since Daniel Craig admitted that he was afraid of guns.

  • Steve

It surprises me for sure. I'm dropping Shania like a hot potato. I have a zero tolerance policy for anti-gunners.

  • Steve

Have you ever noticed the connection? Actors=Unions=Democrats=Gun Control.

  • Danimal

Another anti gun company: Staples office supplies. I've told the office we will never deal with them again. I also refuse to allow the Dixie Chicks in the house and the last time it was played in my house at a party it was ejected from the CD player and broken in half. If every gun owner got on board it could cost these companies millions and they might think before they shoot their mouths off. If anyone can add to this list please get on board.

outlaw guns and then only outlaws will own them.most of these people are morons.they are only actors.if our country folded they would not be able to protect what they have.and probably beg for help.

    • Pierre

      Bloody well right!

    • Brandon

AMEN! No understatement there! Happy trails

  • oakcliffrat3

These people are actors, and most of them are very good at their craft. We should watch them because they entertain us, not for their political viewpoints. Am I disappointed by their anti-gun stand? Certainly; it spoils the illusion and changes the way I feel about them. That being said, I believe that most Hollywood movie stars are liberal anti-gun nuts; maybe it has something to do with their conscience bothering them for being so wealthy and famous. Maybe they claim to be anti-gun backers because they think it makes them cool. Either way, I will still probably watch their movies, I just wont like them as much. This being America, they are entitled to their opinion; I just wish their opinions were not considered more important simply because of their celebrity.

    • Not a Liberal!

Very well-put, Oakcliffrat3! I never understand why the press seems so enamored with celebrities' political views and opinions, as if they were somehow more profound or meaningful than anyone else's. What has Alec Baldwin accomplished that makes his political views credible?

      • Heretic

I'll probably still watch them, but I'm not going to pay for them anymore.

  • lester duplessie

if they truly believe we shouldn't be able to protect ourselves then they should get rid of there bodyguards and prove they ain't the two faced sob that i know them to be.

  • Dan

Why is anyone surprised at ANY of these people being anti-gun? Look at the list and you can see most of them are left-wing nut jobs. Hypocrites really. They make a very good living portraying someone they aren't. It should surprise no one that people in the entertainment industry is anti-gun. After all guns are for those that protect the celebs, not ORDINARY citizens. Yeah right.

  • Bill

Talk about hipocrites ( I bet 6 out of the 8 all have guns of their own!!!! I know Arnold has quite a collection )They just don't want you or me to have them.

  • Rich

You all Missed our President, Bill Mather, Dave Letterman, and the Turner Foundations – they all have been tied to disarming the USofA – Look at Hillary stating this week the USofA is for global gun bans – If one listens to Letterman and many of his guests they support gun control and our current President. Nothing more needs to be said.

  • Not a Liberal!

I am so glad to see this many comments. I am not surprised at all. Why? Because liberals are, by definition, hypocrites! Obama spouts "fairness" and the need for wealthier people to pay higher taxes. Yet he is wealthy, as are many similar-minded liberals, but you don't see them voluntarily paying more taxes than they owe. They can own large estates and mansions that use a lot of energy (look at Al Gore) but tell everyone else to sacrifice and use less energy to "save the planet." By their very nature, liberals want to tell the rest of us how we should live, while they are free to do whatever they want. More centralized power = less freedom = liberal = most Hollywood people.

  • Dave Rumbough

Clooney deserves special mention in a group like this. Some may recall his being a guest on O"Donnell's show some years back where he ridiculed Charleton Heston's pro-gun rights position as former NRA President by suggesting it was related to his Alzheimer's disease. Until then, I enjoyed Clooney's movies; since then, I haven't seen another. As I recall, the show's host gave him an opportunity to re-state or retract his choice of phrasing. He preferred to let it stand.

    • eliwhit

Clooney is an out and out MORON!

  • Older and Wiser

Most of these Liberal, anti-gunner actors are not in public office, or running for one, YET ! So, the only way we have to show our feelings about their stupidity, their contempt for America, and the Constitutional right to own, "Keep and Bear Arms" is through the flow of our money that buys the movie tickets, concert tickets, and T-shirts, etc. I have not been to the movies in over 10 years, I refuse to watch Letterman and have written complaints to CBS many times about him and his offensive tripe. I try never to pass up an opportunity to voice my opinion when I see something that is wrong, or anti-American. Write to the sponsors of the tv shows that offend our sensibilities. Hitting them in the pocket is the only legal recourse we have that is effective at the moment. BTW, EVA Longoria is a Campaign leader for Obama's upper circle of cuddle buddies. I saw that on Yahoo news last week. What a shame, Just think what Bill Maher's Million dollar gift to Obama could have done for Cancer research at St. Judes or any of the other anti-cancer hospitals.

  • vincent

For those who are quick to argue that "guns don't kill people, people kill people, Violent individuals intent on inflicting multiple fatalities don't choose knives or baseball bats. With few exceptions, they choose guns, and too frequently with those easily accessible weapons. The NRA, to put it bluntly, has too many willing friends in Congress from both political parties. Campaign cash flows to them in hefty amounts. Members of both parties should be ashamed. The Second Amendment, a biblical passage to its followers, may give a right to bear arms. It does not, however, give a license to kill. Try telling it to the NRA. Semiautomatic and automatic guns are designed to cause fatal harm. There's no argument otherwise, even if one's only purpose in owning such a weapon is recreational. Guns Kill People. Period.

    • Guest

In your statement where ever the word gun is substitute motor vehicle!

    • Charleyb

You can kill people with pretty much anything. Cars kill more people every year by far than guns do. Should we outlaw cars? I know your response cars are necessary, they serve a purpose. Guns serve a far more important purpose. They protect our country, our families and our property. Guns are what separates America from the other countries of the world, they keep us free from oppression (somewhat) and foreign attack (proven historical fact).
My guns have never got off the dresser or out of my gun safe to kill anyone. Funny it takes someone to pull the trigger to kill. Guns are the great equalizer, they make a 100 lbs. woman equal to the 300 lbs. rapist.
It's morons like you who don't understand that criminals by definition do not follow the law, ergo if you make guns illegal only criminals will have guns.
I personally would like that equalizer when violent people come into my house late at night to harm me and mine. You keep your house gun free maybe they will visit you knowing you are unarmed.

      • spike1point5

If you look below, I agree with you, but I take exception to your facts. I own my guns because I like them, not because I happen to need them as protection. Come to that, none of us NEED guns, save the military, who protect country, or law enforcement, who protect family and property. If you make guns illegal, then it DOES make it harder for criminals to get hold of guns, of course it won't eradicate the problem completely, but then neither would anything else. You make a decent point, but the constant use of "guns protect our freedom" is a little jarring, unless you happen to, at this point, be using them in battle against an invading country

        • spike5point1

Law enforcement in no way protect you…they might as well be clean up. When seconds count the police are minutes away…

    • Alan_T

Oh Vincent ….. that's not true , the #1 murder weapon has always been the lowley old hamer . In fact , if you would get up off your liberal posterior and check the DOJ's anual crime report , firearms currently and always have ranked pretty far down on the list . You are just displaying YOUR ignorence . Period .

    • spike1point5

So are combat knives, yet I own 3. So indeed are many things. I respect your view, and DEFINITELY your right have it, but I have yet to kill anyone in civilian life, despite owning 2 handguns and a Class A LTC. I respect the message you are trying to send, but I have to disagree with you on this one. Also I think that you may have picked the wrong forum for this, perhaps this post would be better served on a board discussing the licensing of weaponry, period?

    • Subzero

Guns kill people, period. Yeah right, just like spoons made Rosie o'donnel fat. Vincent you can go pound sand with Stallone.

      • patriot 86

I LOVE YOUR COMMENT TO VINCENT .THAT WAS HILARIOUS ABOUT THE SPOON MAKING ROSIE OBESE.THE REASON THE DUMB BITCH IS FAT IS BECAUSE SHE COULDNT PUSH HER FAT ASS AWAY FROM THE TABLE TO STOP EATING.RIGHT NOW VINCENT AND SLY ARE PROBABLY MAKING A DATE TO GO TO THE BEACH HAHAHA.

    • eliwhit

vincent: You are as Stupid as your post! Let's see Guns are running around killing people? Right! No, you stupid Donkey's rear end it is a person behind the Gun doing the killing! And if you had half a brain it has been repeated over and over for you mental retards to get it through your thick skulls that if good guys are without the weapons only the Bad will be armed! Bye the way the bad includes your dumb rectummed Government! If you want to live where guns are not owned by private citizens then move to a Communist Country and see how safe you are when you step out of line or oppose a rule or just speak your mind! There are more people killed every year bye your Laws than are killed with guns in 20 yearsyou idiot! Check it out 30 million killed right here in the US sanctioned bye Supreme Court Law in the last 38 years and these were not done with guns but with pills and scalpels! Wake the hell up! Your Government should fear the people not the people fear the Government!!

    • RichardH

You are so wrong on so many levels. A recent report showed that more people where killed with clubs and hammers in this country last year than with a firearm. Stop villifing the tool and focus on the perpetrator. Many more deaths last year were also caused by drugs, alcohol, automobiles, and doctors than by guns. Try banning any one of those and see how far you get.

    • whelen35

Vincent, thegun isnot a livingbreathing thing, it can not influance a person. All of the talk of banning this of banning that does little to address the root problem. The problem is that we as a nation have forgotton our manors and teachings of what is acceptable. We have violence in TV and movies, in our music, everywhere we look. If it comes into a neighborhood, people leave rather than not allow it to be there. We need to respect life and the rights of others and teach people that their rights end where othres rights begin. We "ban" drugs, that has not stopped that, most crimes are "banned" still happens. A knee jerk reaction feels good, but does little to stop the actions. fix the family, fix our communities, fix our nation. Long live our right to bear arms.

    • patriot 86

YOUR TOTALLY MISSING THE POINT OF THAT QUOTE.SURE GUNS KILL PEOPLE BUT SO DO KNIVES CLUBS CARS AND PRETTY MUCH ANYTHING YOU CAN NAME CAN BE TURNED INTO A WEAPON.DO WE BAN ALL THESE THINGS BECAUSE SOMEONE CHOOSES TO USE THEM IMPROPERLY .WHAT WOULD THE WORLD BE LIKE WITHOUT CARS OR KNIVES ETC.THE POINT IS ITS NOT THE TOOL THAT IS TO BLAME BUT THE PERSON USING IT .IF A CRAZED MADMAN HAD WALKED INTO THAT SCHOOL IN NEWTOWN WITH A ALUMINUM BASEBALL BAT AND STARTED SWINGING AND BEFORE HE WAS SUBDUED KILLED FIVE KIDS BY BASHING THEIR BRAINS IN WOULD WE BE CALLING FOR A BAN ON BASEBALL BATS .

  • collegekickout

I am happy to see these hypocritical jerks brought out in the open at least on the 'net' . I am already planning to boycott ANY movie, TV, or stage production as well as ANY records and concerts by these performers. I'll be Dammed if I will support their lavish lifestyles supported by bodyguards equipped with MP5's that We the public are BANNED from owning. All one needs to do is refer to history, Germany, Russia, China, Southeast Asia and other countries who have "registered, and confiscated" weapons from the people to "make us safer" and then we all wind up in "internment" camps". Gun control is hitting your target. "one shot, one kill".

  • John Doe

I think we should push to make it illegal for professional body guards to carry guns then see what these lefties think about that.

    • Alan_T

I think THAT is an excellent idea . We'd soon see a number tunes changed .

      • spike1point5

        no you wouldn't.
        A) that legislation would never fly, and you know it
        B) the steps taken next would simply be random spot checks on the street, you WOULD have a plutocratic dictatorship as the rich got scared and forced the politicians to take ever more extreme measures to prevent harm. You would wind up with secret police kicking in doors to check your homes.

This would cause more harm than good. Really.

    • Mack Missiletoe

If they are to ban guns that includes Police and Military. Oh, and the World since there would be an uprising and a massive importation of guns so that we could take back our USA.

  • CarbineCoyote

I seem to recall an earlier list of anti-gun celebrities which included Mark Harmon and Sigourney Weaver.

And a list of anti-gun companies which included Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream and Progressive Insurance.

    • patriot 86

YEAH YOUR RIGHT SIGOURNEY WEAVER USED TO BE ONE OF MY FAVORITE ACTRESSES TILL I READ A ARTICLE SHE WROTE AFTER HER MEGA SMASH ALIENS THAT CAME OUT IN 1986.IN THE ARTICLE SHE SAID WHEN SHE HEARD IN THE MOVIE HER CO ACTORS WOULD HAVE SMART GUNS SHE SAID SHE HOPED IT WAS A GUN THAT TALKED YOU OUT OF USING IT.AFTER THAT I WAS LIKE YOU DUMB BITCH YOU JUST GOT THE LAST DIME FROM ME.HAVENT SEEN ONE OF HER MOVIES SINCE .

  • Dilt

Matt Damon is an idiot! Now that that's out of the way, I fail to understand why anyone cares what celebrities think about anything. I don't get my medical advice from Doogie Houser. I go see my doctor.

  • ahyup

I hate to ask but why does anybody give a damn what celebrities have to say? Screw the whole lot of them. Nobody really cares what they think and nobody besides the most bored and irritated adolescent is influence by it.

And I include the illustrious Mr Nugent in that. I don't care what he thinks any more than what Brad Pitt thinks. Both are quite frankly pretty morons. Ted makes great music and Brad makes great movies but when it comes to dealing with reality both live the live the lives of spoiled, rich, stars without a clue.

And before you complain about me dissing Ted tell me, can you jet to Africa to hunt with the Governor of Texas? Do you really think somebody who can has the slightest clue what you actually deal with every day?

    • Mack Missiletoe

Just because someone goes out on a fancy hunt doesn't mean they don't know stuff.

    • patriot 86

WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE IF TED GOES ON LAVISH HUNTS .HES ON OUR SIDE YOU IDIOT LEAVE IT AT THAT .

  • dstudie

Frankly, I'm glad that raspy voiced idiot Twain can't seem to sing any more, not that she ever could. As for the other morons, it comes as no surprise they are anti-gun. It is the current Hollywood thing. These are sheeple who follow along with anything some halfwit pseudo intellectual tells them is cool. They haven't a brain between them. Stallone can't act, Arnold can't keep it in his pants, Damon is a no talent idiot, Devito is just sad. None of them could survive anywhere outside of their mansions, studios or fancy hotel rooms. Put them in the wild and they'd be dead in one day. Why worry about what they think? They are totally useless to anyone.

    • patriot 86

SHANIA TWAIN WASNT SHIT TILL SHE HIT 30 AND CAME TO THE UNITED STATES.HERE SHE MADE IT BIG AND MADE A TON OF CASH.THEN MOVES BACK TO SWITZERLAND AND BITES THE HAND THAT FED HER SO WELL ALL THOSE YEARS.STAY IN SWITZERLAND BITCH WE DONT NEED YOUR DUMB WORTHLESS ASS OVER HERE.

  • Woob

I'm pro-gun all the way but, I must say that I don't really see the point of this article. Seems to be stooping to the level of the anti-gun morons by pointing out useless information. These are just people with their own opinions. Who cares? Actor/politicians will of course flipflop just like any politician. Shania Twain? Who gives a rat's ass what Shania Twain thinks? I just want her to perform naked. All the other actors are just that, actors. Just because they use a gun in a movie doesn't mean they have to like guns. Good guys play bad guys in the movies all the time. Straight actors portray gay characters. Wackos like Tom Cruise, and those other goofy Scientologists, play roles that are contrary to their beliefs. Hey, they're actors. Get it? Misinformed, Unamerican douchbags? Maybe. Hypocrits? That seems to be stretching it. Nice list though. Interesting to know. Just could have and should have been handled differently.

    • semperfi_brat

I'm with you on Shania performing in the nude. Wouldn't care if she were wearing a gun belt or not. :-)

  • Woob

Oops! Make that DOUCHE BAGS. :-)

being freaked out by guns doesn't mean your actively paying or endorsing the prohibition of guns… you might be *jumping* the gun here…

  • Randy

everyone has there own opinion but actors should not voice there thoughts in the press or anyplace. if they don't like guns or any other things don't go making 45million dollars movies promoting yourself using them.
your double standards are going to turn on you someday and people will end up not wanting to view your movies or your comments. I for one like a few actors and after they opened there mouths in public about somethings I dislike them and will never watch another movie or repeat they have on TV or where ever.
I think you should just shut the hell up and go on making your money

  • J.P.

Those guns make them a lot of money on film don't they ?

  • SSGT

As I read all these comments and replies, all this means nothing.
Who really cares what (celebrities) say or do?
I have never put any actor or singer on a pedestal to worship as many seem to do,I view them as people..
They are no better or worse than I am, or all of us..
I always liked John Wayne ..but I don't respect him…he was a draft dodger.
I still watch his movies in spite of my feelings about draft dodgers…

    • spike1point5

Well said. You've just raised the average intelligence of this board by about 50 points.

  • Nomad Warrior

These so called actors should, pardon the pun, stick to their guns and never handle any firearms. They make a hell of living using firearms in movies and yet some are against them. Only in America can people be selective on what amendments they stand behind. Celebrities are given too much power, they are sheep, pretending for a living. They will always go with flow and try turn others into puppets. I thank you for making me aware of some these actors, this way I can never support anything they do.

    • patriot 86

I LIKE THAT ANALOGY OF ACTORS THAT PRETEND FOR A LIVING.PERHAPS STALLONE AND WALBERG AND ALL THE REST WHO ARE AGAINST THE SECOND AMENDMENT BUT DO MOVIES WITH GUNS ‘MAKE THEM BECAUSE THEY KNOW IN REAL LIFE THEY ARE A BUNCH OF COWARDS WHO CAN ONLY BE REAL MEN BY PRETENDING TO BE IN A FAKE SETTING.

  • john

I say if they don't like guns, then let their bodyguards use harsh language to protect them, and BTW 2nd adment was around way before any of you were!

    • Mack Missiletoe

"Hey you guys! Put your guns away, I'm trying to protect Miss Twain! Don't make me come over there and talk about yo momma."

      OR

[Criminal hits actor] Bodyguard: "Do please stop! The weather is much too nice for you to resort to violence. Yet my ankle is tingling, perhaps it shall bloody rain."

  • bowserb

Guys, you need to spread this word. I posted a link to the article on a couple of gun forums, and within fifteen minutes, I had a dozen or more replies. The more the word spreads, the better the chance that it will get back to the studios, or have an impact on their earnings. OK. Just wishful thinking, I know.

  • Ron

Maybe I missed someone else mentioning this but what surprises me is that these idiots dont see whats happening in the UK. They did away with guns, mostly and see what the hooligans and gangs are doing there with clubs, bats, and knives.

    • spike1point5

…and yet handgun violence is surprisingly low. You'll never get baseball bats banned, and knives are fairly tightly legislated as it is. It's not about eradicating violence, because until we figure out how to weaponise pot, that ain't happening. It IS about trying to control the amounts of it, and the ease of killing. It is still harder to beat someone to death than to shoot the,.

PS Gun owner, and supporter of gun ownership. Just so you know.

  • Dovekiller

By far the biggest hypocrite in Hollywood was Charleton Heston. The people on this list are implied hypocrites because they seem to support guns in their movies and then support gun control. Heston was a bold face double talkin’ hypocrite of the highest order. When he was president of the NRA some douche bag in congress proposed a massive tax on ammunition. Heston’s and the NRA ‘s position was that it was unconstitutional and just plain wrong to pass a prohibitive tax to curtail a legal activity. Meanwhile California but a huge tobacco tax on the ballot and President Heston taped a commercial to support it, stating that the increased expense would save lives by making it too expensive for some people too smoke. That’s the exact same argument that the libs used for supporting the ammo tax. You can’t have it both ways. I don’t even smoke cigarettes but I resigned my membership to the NRA and refused to rejoin until he was out of office.

  • Irv

Get a life, DK. I used to smoke and I believe I benefitted by quitting. But I digress, that's not what this forum is about. Mr. Heston was anything but a hypocrite.

  • BDT

This list doesn't surprise me in the least. They're not the people you see on the television and big screen, and that is what is sad to me, too many people expect celebrities to be the people they see on screen. Seriously, it is all about selling movies, movies that some of us pay to see. Amazingly the influence that these movies have on people, Rambo, Terminator, Commando, Jason Borne, Sniper, is all too real. Justice and triumph for some average guy through aversion, catastrophe and tribulation. They are movies, made to be enjoyed and sell products. Not for us to idolize actors but the character they portray. They are people with opinions. Just another person with an opinion.

  • Neigal

woo how can guns freak him out after seeing all the jason Bournes they were all filled with guns thats a load of bull

I would have to side with the state on this one, the chance that the child could be in danger can not be ignored.

  • Danny

I know she isn't a big…er…excuse me, celebrity, but they forgot Rosie and her attack on Tom Selleck on her show, while the hypocrite has her armed guards taking her kids (adoopted) to school.

Also, about disarming the average American, y'all remember when Australia made weapon ownership illigal? They had a spike in day time home invasions. What does the criminal have to fear if he's the only one armed???

I SAW THAT SEGMENT .SHE GOT HER ASS HANDED TO THE BY TOM .HE DID GREAT .HE DIDNT TAKE THE BAIT SHE PUT OUT .

WHO GIVES A F*** WHAT THESE ACTORS AND SINGERS THINK? THEY ARE HYPOCRITES. YOU HAVE NUMB NUTS WAHLBERG PLAYING A SNIPER, STALLONE PLAYING A 'NAM VET WHO GOES ON A RAMPAGE, ARNIE BRINGING VIOLENCE ALL OVER THE STREETS OF CALIFORNIA IN HIS FILM, KEVIN BACON IN A MOVIE USING GUNS TO AVENGE THE DEATH OF HIS FAMILY, I MEAN " WHAT THE F***"? DO THEY NOT THINK THAT THIS CONTRIBUTES TO A PRO-GUN CULTURE?

  • http://www.facebook.com/dxrinc Dan Reidy

hypocritically ignorant A-HOLES seem to abound in HOLLYWEIRD…

  • Daggett

I am surprised living in Switzerland has not effected Shania Twain's view. Still she is entitled to her view as I am to mine- especially seeing as I do not see her prancing around the stage using a firearm as a prop like the hypocrites featured in the article who while well paid, largely rely on a fast moving plot and waving a gun around rather than acting ability.

  • Craig

Sad! They make millions toting guns in the movies, then come out against them. Are they lying to Hollywood just to get roles or are they serious? Sounds like they are just hypocrites. So sad I have enjoyed their roles and music. Sorry, my fandom has taken a large blow. The "guys" should of not taken such roles if that is how they feel.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000911987833 David Trudnich

Criminals can always hit up Eric Holder for guns!

  • Jeff Gallaher

I have to agree with the post about these preformer/actors. I believe that if they are so anti gun and think 90% of the American public are criminals for owning guns, I feel they should return the money they recieved for using a weapon in they films. And the teams of body guards that protect them should be fully armed with a large bag of MARSHMELLOWS only. They should not be making tons of money for using guns on the big screen, when they are doing everything they can to take away our guns.

  • Ross

Ted Nugent acted in a movie or two. Not exactly Clark Gable but hey, he did okay.
I like his stance on gun ownership and CCW for sure.
He doesn't seem to think the average Joe or Jane is too stupid and irresponsible to own and carry for protection.

Here's the list everyones been looking for. I found it on the NRA's site. Just another reason to join and support their(our) efforts to keep the 2nd Amendment alive and well.

  • Garry Owen

OK, so these bozos don't think the honest American citizen should not own firearms. Now, the American public believes these bozos don't have the right to hire privaet armed bodyguards. Better yet the armed bodyguards can only carry squirt guns loaded with plain tap water.

  • Tony

Thats why I don't buy movies or go to the movies, I get them for free LOL. Eff em all.

  • Tony

The only reason for GUN control is to have TOTAL control. If they want to get rid of all guns, then take them from the Police Officers and from the Armed forces, then I will give mine up. But even if guns are banned in America, I will still have one somewhere, and so will the criminals. I grew up in DC during the murder craze, see how well GUN CONTROL worked out for them right?

  • Kowboy

I agree with the fact these people have the right to believe in what they want. So do we. We still have the right to own guns by the law. The one that has always PISSED me off is Stallone. That sorry SOB is also a Traitor to this country. The Coward ran off to Canada like a scared little boy then comes back and places the exact role he ran from. He will never have any respect.

  • thesportsman

I live in the UK and gun ownership is almost a taboo, there is even talk of the creation of a database of gun owners so that "you can know if you and your children are living next to a house with a (Legally held!) gun inside" the same type of scheme used to protect children from "Deviants". We have bans on ALL Handguns, All automatic weapons, all Semi autos (Except for .22) and any weapon for home defence, This means our Olympic pistol team has to train in another country! The only way we can own any Firearms is with a firearms certificate which means jumping through all kinds of hoops. the only way we can own historic firearms (Except for bolt action which require a section 1 licence) is to buy them welded shut. We cannot own less lethal weapons under any circumstances! This has led to the choice of leaving violent intruders to steal what they want and possibly harm or kill you and your family or fight back and risk a prison sentence. Please United States don't allow yourselves to lose your hobbies and sport as we have. We few last collectors look longingly at your privileged rights, you don't know how lucky you are. Hope to join you some day. One sad Englishman signing off….. __:(__

    • Ruth

We would gladly trade Piers Morgan for you. Hope you can join us someday.

      • dizymeup

Damn straight, Piers Morgan is here and free to own guns if he wants…..all the while spewing his vile filth against them and real LEGAL GUN OWNING Americans…WHO by the way harm no one,. We would welcome you with open arms “thesportsman” Piers on the other hand needs to keep his fake promise and GET THE HELL OUT.

        • Connor

Americans harm no one, Except the millions of murders in overseas countries and hundreds of murders on your streets, not saying you’re the only one because your not, but that’s utter bull.

          • dizymeup

You totally missed the point. Just because someone owns a gun doesn’t make them a murderer….just like owning a hammer or knife doesn’t make you a ptotential murder, Just like filling a bathtub doesn’t mean you’re going to drown your kiids Law abiding American gun owners don’t travel overseas to murder anyone. Talk to the government….Your poing mixes apples and oranges.

    • patriot 86

COME ON OVER BUD ID BE GLAD TO HAVE YOU.YEAH I AGREE BRITIAN IS ONE FUCKED UP COUNTRY ONCE THE GUNS WERE BANNED.I GET A IMMENSE KICK OUT OF THESE ASSHOLES WHO BASH OUR COUNTRY WHILE HIDING BEHIND THE RIGHT TO FREE SPEECH.IF YOU HATE IT HERE SO MUCH GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE GREATEST PLACE TO LIVE FREE IN THE WORLD.IF BEING TOLD WHAT TO THINK ;DO AND SAY IS WHAT YOU WANT GTFO AND LEAVE THE PEOPLE WHO WANT TO BE FREE TO LIVE LIKE WE WANT ALONE .YOUR JUST A FUCKING PARASITE THAT NEEDS TO GO FEED SOMEWHERE ELSE.

  • Harv

I still don't get what makes anyone think thay these so called celebrities are going to have an opinion worthy of being heard. These people make huge sums of money for playacting like small children , so how can we expect them to have an outlook based in reality.I would much rather hear from the guy in front of me in line at the grocery or gas station than these rich and spoiled stars. If you want to hear opinions that matter, talk to the people out there trying to raise and protect their kids in this screwed up world.

  • JohnH

Oakcliffrat3 is on the money. Celebs at one point or another realize they are only appreciated due to who they are not. People "love" them for the characters they play. The easy way to more adoration is is to follow liberal views. The main stream media and the entertainment world will keep your name out there and praise you if you spout their views and ideology. Although I live just outside of Nashville, I'm not a huge country music fan, but aside from Shania and the Dixie Chicks, country music celebs are among the most pro-America citizens in our country. When is the last time a Rock or Rap artist did a benefit for our brave military personnel or recorded a song showing pride in being a US citizen.

  • http://twitter.com/DAVE_SIRESS @DAVE_SIRESS

No surprises here, they make millions on all of us that watch their movies and then turn around and try to take oour rights away. STOP SUPPORTING HOLLYWOOD!

  • Will Carry

Take away guns and a little old lady can no longer protect herself against an attack. Guns protect! These hollywood actors are living in a fantasy world.

  • Dr. Doug

Well, I suggest that we gun folks make our opinions count. Make a note of all these clods and don't buy their movies, watch their shows, etc. Hit em where it hurts!

  • Fred

At the very moment when Rosie O'Donnel was screaching about gun control she was lobbying the NY authities to give her body guard a permit to carry. When asked about the hypocricy she said she was different. People like her needed protection. That is the elitist mind set.

    • dizymeup

Rosie O’donnell already has protection, she just has to sit on the offender.

      • patriot 86

ROSIE O DONNELL DOESNT NEED A BODYGUARD FOR ANYTHING .SHE HAS A BULLET PROOF VEST ON 24 7.ITS THAT THICK LAYER OF LARD SHE CARRIES WITH HER EVERYWHERE .THERE AINT A GUN KNOWN TO MAN THAT WILL PENETRATE THAT .

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1441266773 Robert Pavelchek

Well, really, what's the surprise? Most of these people probably have their thinking on guns shaped by the armed characters they play onscreen… Most of which characters tend to be violent, often untrustworthy or even sociopathic.
How many movie characters can you think of that use guns in a RESPONSIBLE manner?

And you can't include characters played by John Wayne…

  • DSR

England took the handguns and rifles out of the home. Then the Crooks, Bad Guy and Thugs run amok. Australia did the same and in one year crime went up 60%. As for the Actors who play with guns but want us to give them up. OK then you give up your acting career and we will think about giving up our Second Amendment.

  • pocalde

I think that the Movies and TV as well as Music, etc. are the most powerful influences in the World! Why good leaders don't use them more I don't know. That being said; example rather than what we say trumps all. I watched the anti-gunners clear all weapon type toys from the stores. I then witnessed their return after the Star Wars movies came. So, you tell me what rules the day.

  • DAN DYMAN

BOYCOTT THEM, AND THEIR MUSIC, FILMS, PRODUCTS ETC ETC. THAT'S THE BEST WAY TO HURT THEM, RIGHT IN THEIR PAYCHECK

  • Allan

WTF? I grew up watching Stallone & Arnold in the 80's & 90's. More than Half of the Reason why Im into Guns and BodyBuilding is Based on theyre Influence of Movies they made. Its a Sad Day when your Heroes rebuke something you learned from them. Thats like Hulk Hogan Burning the US Flag. GOD BLESS AMERICA,GOD SAVE THE SECOND AMENDMENT & Support our Military,Police & Security Forces! Amen!

  • Nadine in Nevada

I scrolled through the comments and, unless I missed it, ASHLEY JUDD wasn't mentioned. She too feels that all us litle people should give up our guns but then she's running around in her movies = and current TV series = with guns.

  • http://www.facebook.com/guncollecting Rich West

Hypocrisy knows no bounds. I would never have thought some of these people were such asshats.

    • http://www.facebook.com/guncollecting Rich West

Hard telling how many more are the same but don't say anything.

  • Jack Francis

The entertainment industry and liberal politics is fraught with hypocrisy: California Senator Diane Feinstein has a concealed carry permit, but has fought concealed carry for citizens and was the Queen Mother for the Assault Weapons Ban; Rosie ODonnel, on her now defunct TV show, ripped Tom Selleck a new one for his membership on the NRA Board of Directors, but employs gun-toting bodyguards; Sarah Brady bought a hunting rifle for her son and later claimed she felt guilty about it. I would be willing to bet that most Hollywood celebrities employ armed bodyguards. Their attitude seems to be, "Gun control is for THOSE people", the common people.

  • Richard

Actors do say so many stupid things does opion matter on gun control to adults that know they may need gun becuase they can not afford all body guards home security actors have round them. There actors there never gone be in harm way buy them selfs with out some arm round them. When new movie expendables 2 being made there so many body gaurds round Sylvester Stallone Arnold Schwarzenegger they where safer than people that shoot movie in counrty they where in. Actor live in make beleave land so opion on gun control should belong there to.

  • dedalto

  • David

not a one of those people would be earning the high dollars they do without the public supporting there movies and music etc….So I for one has a 2nd amendment fan will no longer watch or listen

  • Mack Missiletoe

They all have one thing in common: They're scared.

We all have one thing in common: We don't like guns pointed at us.

Whether it be knives, swords, guns, pencils-of-doom, the good guys are going to equalize to that and defend themselves. It just so happens that the small arms of today is the gun. And to go around and take the good guy's guns is evil incarnate. It's like taking they're car or their job. You don't do that.

  • meeee

Mark Wahlberg gets it……….you say he is an anti yet he gets it……… it would not take much to get him to understand why firearms in the hands of good people are important "you hope that good people in the world have them to protect the people who can’t protect themselves"

  • meeee

Whats really funny is how we always say the antis watch too many RAMBO or TERMINATOR movies to get their "gun facts". I can fully understand how the stars of said movies would be anti gun- they honestly think one guy with an AK47 can kill thousands of government troops and tanks with one bullet- they are unstoppable killing machines- that any good harmless citizen with a gun will act like they did in RAMBO or TERMINATOR!

  • Bryan Wesley

I don’t support any of the Anti-gun Companies, Organizations, Media, or Celebrities on the NRA list. Pass the link around whenever you can and encourage others to avoid supporting these people and companies that seek to destroy our rights.

  • http://www.facebook.com/david.skoal.5 David Skoal

I'm a proud firearm owner ,I have owned firearms all my life and will always own them . No government will ever take my firearms as long as i'm breathing . CCw permit holder . I train regularly with firearms along with hunting ,recreational shooting , competition shooting . God forbid if there ever comes a day that i have to use fore my firearm in self defense i will protect my self my family friends and even you anti gun Nut jobs . To the anti gun people it is your right Not to own weapons if you want to make your self and family easy targets for criminals that's your right . How ever i will use what ever means at my disposal to protect my loved ones period .

I find it funny that you have politicians and even presidents that are anti gun yet they have armed security that protects them weather they are provided with security or they hire personal security . I tell you what if you want to bring up a gun law to be passed first lose your armed and unarmed security and i might actually listen to what you have to say . If your a president thats against the right to own guns Don't have security period Not even in the white house . I say this because your wanting law abiding citizens to be easy targets you should be a easy target your life is not any more valuable than my life my family's life or any other law abiding citizens life .

These movie stars and sports stars that are anti gun they have the right to be but don't push your views on other people . These people have security with them a large amount of the time live in rich neighborhoods with security gates within gated communities which makes them a hard target to go after . Most law abiding citizens can't afford to live in places like that .

There's no such thing as a good gun. There's no such thing as a bad gun. A gun in the hands of a bad man is a very dangerous thing. A gun in the hands of a good person is no danger to anyone except the bad guys. I don't understand why people cant understand this .

Don't try to take my rights as a legal law abiding citizen because i have no problem turning from a law abiding citizen to a well armed well trained criminal when it comes to you anti gun people wanting to take my tools that provide's personal defense ,food and recreational fun .

If you want my guns, come take them. Give it your best shot.
I came into this world kicking and screaming covered in someone else's blood.
I have no problem going out the same way.

properly store your weapons teach your children gun safety and train often with your weapons ,

      paranoia.

      • dizymeup

where’s the paranoia, do you read the news? Have you not heard of people just wanting guns to shoot at the range?….Have you not heard of people protecting themselves from an intruder that would likely have mordered them all but the owners had a gun?….Get out of Lala land…..there are plenty of evil bastards in this world more than willing to take your life for your cash….THE PEOPLE WTH LEGALLY OWNED GUNS ARE NOT THE ONES TO BE PARANOID ABOUT.

  • Gil

I believe there are only 4 or 5 who are not like, such as Chuck Norris. I used to really like Shania Twain and she was one of the very few whom I bought cds. Since she has come out, I have broken all her cds and deleted all her song from all my computers. If she doesn't like our Constitution, let her go back to Canada. I will not spend $1 on anything that come out of Hollywood. We as gun owners, if we continue to support theses people it will only get worse. We keep shooting ourselves in the foot and keep saying it hurts! Remember Hollywood is giving and supporting the same person who is trying to take our guns away

    • Capucine Altier

      Pffff

    • dizymeup

agreed…..I have an app on my phone called second vote……you can look up a business and see where they stand on being conservative /progun etc……I refuse to buy from anywhere that doesn’t fit the American Dream…it may be a small shot at helping butit’s something. Also China owns us…..while there stuff is cheap it’s most likely full of lead and chemicals we don’t need….I won’t buy anything from China , Pakistan or even Mexico…look at how much produce comes from out of the country….don’t use it and we hit them in the walllet where it makes a differance…….and always try to stick with American made.

  • Ross

I'm disgusted with Stallone. I used to like him, but he is such a hypocrite. I hope he stays in the "yUK"! This hypocrite has made his entire career, and fortune, portraying and thriving on violence. I guess he feels it is better to beat someone to death like Rocky. Everyone "knows" it's better to be beaten to death than shot to death.

    • smarterthanyou001

he’s an actor , its his job to be an actor you fucking pile of dicks…his personal opinion is non of your business, i mean seriously if you concern yourself with someone else’s personal opinion on a subject then your a moron, at the end of the day he’s still a cool guy and obviously a hell of a lot smarter than you

hey lets hope you get shot to death in the street ! then you can learn why guns are a fucking problem. fucking asshat.

    • smarterthanyou001

he’s successful and filthy rich, somehow i don’t think he really gives two shits what you think…. as your not very important.

  • Mack Missiletoe

Whoa whoa! Mark Wahlberg is one of my favorite actors! Just because he says he wants to ban guns doesn't mean I won't watch his movies; he is entitled to his opinion. If I met him I would convince him otherwise… but actually it looks like he understands we cannot be without our firearms.

We all know Mr. Arnold was putting on an act. I wonder if the rest of the actors were. I had a friend that wanted to be an actor so bad he would lie about stuff to make him look good. He saw it as 'acting'. We are no longer friends.

If I were governor I'd say I was against assault weapons too. I wouldn't say that AR-15's and semi-automatic AK47's are not assault rifles so the public wouldn't freak. I also would still allow fully auto weapons available to upstanding citizens in accordance with our current laws. I would be against assault weapons going to criminals but allow good guys to own them within our laws. Win/Win! Perhaps this is why our laws are not going to change according to the news and our leaders after the recent theater attack.

I think that the anti-gun crowd just does not understand America or know anything about our history. They are either scared, sheltered, or would rather follow orders as a slave than stand up for America. They also pay no attention to the positive side of guns but rather focus on the negative side. They also seems to be firm believers that all guns or all semi-auto guns are used only for killing. The last belief is a result of our news media's anti-gun agenda.

I think anti-gun nuts must have trouble sleeping at night thinking some bad guy with a gun will try to break in their house. If they were wise they'd have a gun handy for such an incident as well as a flashlight and phone to call 911. But perhaps they are too afraid to use a gun and are ignorant towards history. Scared. Realize I do not wish bad things to happen to them, I understand their pov. Their pov just does not work in reality. What they need is someone to teach them guns safety and how to shoot an AR-15–as well as a Glock. I betcha their views will change once they realize that the safety on guns ACTUALLY WORK and that guns do not choose who they shoot.

No one likes gun violence. No one likes car wrecks either. Gun violence is violence. If not with a gun, some other way. The problem is the person. I am a good person; I will not cause gun violence. Lets keep using our laws to keep guns out of the wrong hands. And let's keep our eyes and ears open for those blending in as a good guy to hurt the good guys.

Hitler used gun control to keep guns out of the hands of Jews. No one wants to remember… so don't let it happen again!

  • sailor bob

If you guys think you got it bad, you should see the anti-gun lunacy up here in Canada. They tried to ban bullets in Toronto thinking it would help stop crime,of course, instead of going after the gangs and criminals.I myself, at one time disagreed with our American neighbors, but not anymore.I would like to see Ontario become the first carry province in Canada, and see a second amendment written into our constitution or charter of rights.

    • smarterthanyou001

the only reason we need guns is because we were stupid enough to make them available to everyone in the first place… i hate being American, i feel like i am surrounded by ignorant moron/ ape people…. perhaps we should start throwing feces at each other?

      • Capucine Altier

Exactly.. there r too many ignorant and stupid people in our society why should they own gun? If u have no IQ and EQ you shouldnt own a gun at ALL.

        • John Herz

There are idiots with drivers licenses. Maybe to keep ppl from getting killed in car wrecks we should ban all cars. Idiots burn there house down while cooking let’s ban stoves. Tell me by your logic that don’t make sense.

          • Capucine Altier

You obviously have no logic. Just because someone has a car accident doesnt mean we should own guns… incredible is ur answer

          • dizymeup

And YOU do have logic? Seriously? You missed the point. People can be killed or harmed in many ways other than guns, stupid…….should we ban EVERYTHING WE OWN? let me spell it out for you in kindergarden language….if someone murders another with a knife should we bad ALL knives? Sure of course….then you can chew your steak like the cave man that you are.

So please, see yourself out if you hate being American.

Glad to see these public figures willing to stand up for their beliefs. I am a veteran and frequently take our Scout Troop to a rifle/pistol range. But I object to the argument that private citizens must have free access to automatic weapons with high capacity magazines. The last time I checked, there were no such weapons when the second amendment was written into the Constitution.

    • sane-in-so-cal

Duh. Idiotic argument. The musket WAS the assault weapon of the day. 2nd Amendment says ARMED. Not musketed. The purpose of the 2nd was to throw off and prevent return of tyranny. You and I were members of a standing army, something the Founding Fathers abhorred and warned against. You’d do right by your Scout troop to get a copy of David Bartons American Heritage series DVDs and view them together. (Wallbuilders.com)

the whole of America is filled with dumb people…. whats your point ?

      • Ruth

You need to get another screen name. You sure are not smarter than most of the people on here. It would be nice if one of your friends would let us know if you were not able to protect yourself and paid the price for it.

      • dizymeup

And you are # 1 on the list of dumb people,,,smarterthananyou…you need a name change.

        • patriot 86

YEAH HE NEEDS TO CHANGE IT TO DUMBER THAN DIRT.

  • Firebird

And yet these spoiled little hollywood brats can afford the armed guards, fancy alarm systems and gaurd dogs to protect them 24/7 Well heres news WERE NOT LIVING IN A MONARCY and THEIR NOT PRIVLAGED NOBELMEN SO THIS HAD BETTER SINK INTO THEIR THICK HEADS

  • chaburchak

Mark Wahlberg didn't need to a gun to beat an Asian guy till he lost sight in one eye. Most galling of all, he's never looked the guy up to apologize or make amends. In fact, in an interview he said he doesn't lose sleep about it. What a piece of crap that guy is.

    • smarterthanyou001

yeah because the rest of you gun totting morons are so civilized….

      • Kybar

Someone breaks into your house what do you do? Call for a gun. You don’t like our rights that’s fine. But when they come barking at your door who will be left to stand up for you.

        • patriot 86

Dont even waste your time replying to dumber than dirt because hes just a little pussy who wouldnt pick up a gun to save himself or a loved ones life.pathetic pos

      • dizymeup

If you did some research you would see that the LEGAL Gun owners are civilized….its the “fu*king” criminals THAT are not….WHY IS THAT SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND….Oh I get it…… YOU ARE THE MORON.

  • Winston

Stallone has a concealed carry permit.

  • Hagan

Any one ever been around a war zone or aftermath of a natural disaster? Bet that these anti gunner's haven't. H.G Wells's War of the World's wasn't about predatory Martians sucking the planet's resources and us dry. It was about what the human race's response to possible annihilation. Some (rich) people enjoy such an illusory sense of entitlement
they fail to remember no one is immune from social upheaval so and when their money is worthless their only security
is with a club, knife or firearm. I wish I could breath the same air as them.

  • Vladimir

I heard a story about a conversation between screenwriter, John Milius and Steven Spielberg. These two men are friends, apparently. Spielberg has quite a collection of "assault weapons"—-AR-15's, AK's and whatnot. Milius asked Spielberg how he, an avowed anti-gun liberal, could justify keeping such weapons. Spielberg replied, "gun control is for THOSE people!" Gun control queen and sponsor of the 1994 assault weapon ban, has been reported by several sources to possess a California concealed carry permit. During a press conference, she was confronted by a news reporter, who asked her how she justified carrying a gun. Feinstein stuttered, "t t t o p p protect myself with!" Rosie O'donnel admitted to employing an armed bodyguard although she herself is an avowed gun opponent. Oh yeah, just remember, gun control is for THOSE people

  • fukhollywood

    I'm sure they want their bodyguards packing :}

  • Joel Bator Sr.

I'm 69 yrs old male. Just now realizing how how hypocritical Actors are and that they are the scum of the earth!! Joel!!

  • Janet

Kevin Bacons new tv show is one of the most violent shows out there. Way to go giving sick people some ideas.

    • patriot 86

NEVER WATCHED IT NEVER WILL.I DONT SUPPORT HIPOCRITES .

  • Devilswork

hypocrits, send your security guards to come take them!

  • Imragnar1

Simple, gun owners should simply boycott these peoples movies and performances. Make it very well known that we are boycotting them because of their gun grabbing views. I’ve heard that in Hollywood money talks. Let’s put that idea to the test. If every gun owner makes a point of being very vocal about not going to events featuring these folks, I wonder if we could make them change their views. What do you think?????

    • smarterthanyou001

wow so people having there own morals and oppinions makes you cry hahahaha pussy

    • patriot 86

SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN TO ME.

  • Dustin Bender

These Hollywood hypocrites need to keep their mouths shut! These people make millions of dollars starring in films portraying acts of gun violence and turn around and say guns are bad?!?! I think Marky Mark and Stallone had a gun in every movie they ever acted in. I will never watch another film that involves any of these hypocritical pieces of SH*T!

    • smarterthanyou001

guns are for pussy’s you are a pussy :)

  • Dylan James

Why do conservatives hate the idea of some form of firmer gun control? I, as a liberal, understand those who have intelligent arguments against assault weapon bans (though I find them mostly reasonable) but why background checks? If you would and should be allowed to own a gun why would you oppose increased background checks? I know that when it comes to a great many social issues we (liberals and conservatives) vary greatly, but why villify the other side for thinking there is another way that could work out? please be considerate of fellow Americans, we all simply vote and support what we think will help America. WE have different opinions, and its beautiful, thats what make us a republic, as opposed to a monarchy. If one sides views ruled us all, then that would destroy the fabric of america, the fabric of the two party system. We vote for who we thinks best, Reagan? Great, Bush 1st? ok Clinton? great, Dubya? good guy, in over his head, Obama? Not perfect, but not as bad as you make him out to be. Please, respect American history and respect that others have differing opinions. All of you have a great day, train with your guns, because not knowing how to properly use it, is as bad or worse as not having it at all. (Proud Owner of a S&W, “M&P Shield” 9mm)

    • sane-in-so-cal

Because when the time comes, the background check will reveal whatever The Powers That Be want it to. History proves it at least twice in the last century. The National Socialists of Germany wanted what you had? Poof, you were instantly a Jew and off to the death camp. You disagreed with the paradise of the Soviet Workers Paradise? Only a crazy person would do that. Poof, off to the Gulag or nut house. That’s starting to happen here. Cops can’t keep their gun if a divorce gets messy and charges of abuse are made. It’s a great way for the slaves to be kept on the plantation.

    • Patriot247

Because “expanded background checks” can include anything that big brother wants to include. Say you took medication for depression over a decade ago, guess what, that just black listed you from buying a gun.

    • patriot 86

WE ALREADY HAVE BACKGROUND CHECKS .WHAT THEY WANT IS REGISTRATION SO THEY CAN TRY AND CONFISCATE LATER.

  • smarterthanyou001

    guns are for pussies.

  • smarterthanyou001

the whole world is laughing at us because as a country america is the land of the pussy, guns guns guns…. its abit pathetic, being anti-guns is a good thing shows your brain still works, we live in year 2013 try being a bit more civilized cos right now we look really dumb. oh and guns are for pussy’s use your fists or you are a pussy simples :)

  • smarterthanyou001

oh and i don’t use guns because my penis is huge, can you say the same ?

  • Capucine Altier

Why would u hate them? They hate guns because they simply dont think it is useful. If someone hates guns it is simply because he hates violence and he is scared of it.

  • Dean Smith

Just because someone has a different opinion about guns doesn’t make them a bad celebrity. No one is forcing them to have guns and no one can take my rights away.

  • snagglepuss

Sometimes the rest of the story needs to be told,
Matt Damon has said that guns freak him out. He’s also said that he’s not against others owning them.
Kinda taking something out of context here.

  • gym

You can’t have it both ways, if you make hundreds of millions of dollars glorifying guns on the big screen, and later say guns are bad, you look like a dumb fuck, sorry but it’s true.
Anyone who walks the streets these days when people are strung out, needs to protect themselves from assault rape carjacking’s and home invasions. When you live in La La land you perhaps don’t need this because you have people who have guns with you.
And yes I have had 3 of those including a home invasion, happen to me. I carry 44 years now, everyday.
Wake up Mary mark, and Sly, you came from a shit neighborhood, “think it got better”?
Some of the other “Geniuses” didn’t grow up in Queens of Bklyn, but you guys should know better, stop trying to fit in with the assholes who are not your peers

  • MR AR50

Smarterthanyou001, since you obviously hold the United States of America and it’s people in such contempt, why don’t you do yourself and everyone else a favor, and LEAVE. Ours
is a great nation, of patriots and warriors, and we don’t need the likes of a simpering, pathetic coward such as yourself cluttering up the gene pool with your weak seed.

  • Johny

Smarter than you, even though you will probably never read this. I would like to say you are one ignorant cock sucker. Do the world a favor and go fuck yourself commie.

  • cansasman62

The musket argument is ludicrous! There were no phones, satellites, computers, etc. when the first amendment was written. I guess none of us are protected by it unless we are vocal. Idiot anti gun nuts!

  • Cockdiesel

Spielberg is right to be worried. He has pissed off the right people with his lies and he knows it.

  • Doug Boekhout

Their real life is just like their acting life, P H O N Y.

  • Betterthanyu

I’m sad to see so many actors I enjoy be total hypocrites! I cannot believe Stallone wants guns taken door to door. Just wow. Chuck Norris, a proud patriot, needs to knock sense into these hypocrites. Even the great Clint Eastwood..at least these actors support our Civil Rights.

    • patriot 86

YUP ID LIKE TO SEE CHUCK AND CLINT GET TOGETHER AND GO VISIT SMARTER THAN YOU .THIS FUCKING LITTLE PUSSY WOULD BE PISSING IN HIS DIAPER BEFORE THEY WERE A HUNDRED YARDS FROM HIM.

  • Betterthanyu

I would have never guessed Wahlberg or Damon either…just makes me sad. And Connery?? NOOOO!

  • Proud veteran and gun owner

If these folks are so confident in their beliefs I wonder if they’re backing them up…. None of their bodyguards or staff are packing right?!

  • Allen Lee Runyon Sr

Most of these scumbags has made their money in movies with guns. So I don’t watch their movies or buy anything with their name on it. They can’t support my rights, I can’t support them.

  • dizymeup

Interesting, I propose that the anti gun actors not be permitted to be in any movie where they are shooting up the “bad” guys or even holding a weapon…..they give legal law abiding gun owners a bad name. ……srew them and their movies….they are a bunch of hypocrites.

  • Lorena Ashcroft

I say boycott all of Hollywood and the rap music industry. We don’t need them, mere little people reciting lines and living large on money they make from us. America is about being freed, not living under the dicataors. America has a constitution which allows us to have guns and it is our unalienable right, not the right of these cartoons in hollywood or the media to tell us what to do.

  • Jon Weiss

I always find the hypocrisy somewhat amusing, which is why I don’t actively “Hunt down” celebs to boycott, but if I find them in passing as I have here, then no, I won’t be seeing much of any of their work until/if it comes to the free network TV stations. Seeing their movies on opening night won’t be a priority nor will I be attending any of their concerts. These and a few more I have encountered. O don’t advocate that anyone else refrains from seeing them, let your conscience be your guide, unlike the draconian attitudes of these people.

  • Joseph Kool

If they really believe in what they say then they wouldn’t use guns in their movies, but instead make movies called “The Shooter” and “Bullet to the Head”. They’re just hypocrites with inflated egos. They can go to hell and take their crappy movies with them.

  • Thomas Weiss

funny most of them big city boys born and bred, no wonder they’re afraid of firearms, I’ll bet my last dollar none of them is ex-military or has even taken a firearm safety course.

  • Dominick Ahrens

For Mr. Connery, I suggest we reinstate the Dress Act of 1746 that outlawed the wearing of Scots tartans in public.

After all, those plaids are just a bunch of messy colors, and represent a hostile mindset…
